FishingMonitor

FishingMonitor is a small, no-setup addon that keeps score while you fish. Press Start and it starts timing the session; every item you loot is counted automatically and shown live: how long you have been fishing, how much you have caught in total, and your average catch per minute. That last number is the one that actually answers the question every angler has — is this spot worth staying at? Loot is counted by comparing your bags before and after each pickup, so auto-loot and manual looting both work. Items you buy from a vendor, take out of the bank or receive by mail are ignored, so stocking up on bait in the middle of a session will not pollute your results.

The window also breaks the session down in detail. Under the summary you get a live list of everything you have caught: each item with its count and its share of the total, sorted from most to least, so you can see at a glance how often the rare catch really turns up. Below that, the addon tracks your fishing skill — it records the skill you had when you pressed Start and shows how many points you have gained since, together with your skill-up speed, either as points per minute or as seconds per point (click the line to switch). Both the catch list and the skill numbers update as you play, and freeze the moment you press Stop.

Everything is driven by three buttons that adapt to the current state: the first reads Start, then Pause, then Resume; Stop ends the session and keeps the result on screen for a screenshot; Reset clears it. The window can be dragged anywhere and resized from the grip in the bottom-right corner, and both its position and its size are remembered between sessions. The addon follows your game client's language (English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese), needs no configuration and has no dependencies, and supports Retail, Classic (Vanilla, TBC, Wrath, Cata, Mists) and WoW: Forever. Type /fs in chat to show or hide the window at any time.
