FIRST NAME TERMS
Whisper anyone on WoW Forever by their first name.
Names on WoW Forever are two words, so /w normally needs the whole thing. With First Name Terms you type the first name, press space, and the chat box fills in the rest.
/w false → To False Symmetry:
HOW IT KNOWS NAMES
It quietly remembers every player you come across, for 60 days and across all your characters:
- Anyone who talks in chat (say, yell, trade, LFG, guild, party, raid, battleground) or whispers you
- Your party and raid, friends and guild
- Your target, focus and mouseover, and players on nearby nameplates
- Player names still showing in your chat windows
The first time you use it, give it a few minutes in a city or battleground to fill up.
USAGE
/w false (then space) — whisper False Symmetry
/w fal (then space) — part of a first name works if only one player matches
/w false.s (then space) — two players called False? Add a dot and the start of the second name
Escape — cancel the whisper and go back to Say
Backspace on an empty whisper — back to Say without closing the box
If two players share a first name, it picks the one you saw most recently and tells you who else matched.
CHAT BOX LOCK
Once you open the chat box it stays open until you press Enter or Escape. Open your bags, character pane or anything else and shift-click to link items straight in, with no clicking back into the chat box. Slash commands are never locked.
COMMANDS
/fnt — help, and how many players it knows
/fnt <name> — list the players it knows by that first name
/fnt forget <full name> — remove a player
/fnt lock — turn the chat box lock on or off
NOTES
- Built for WoW Forever (interface 16001).
- The game hides some names from addons in certain situations; those are skipped.
- If a first name doesn't match anyone it has seen, the whisper goes out as typed. Click the player's name in chat once and it will remember them.
