# First to Forever

**Who's going to be first to 60 on WoW Forever? Now you'll watch it happen, live, with a wrestling announcer screaming about it.**

First to Forever turns the race to level 60 into a live event. Every player running the addon helps scan the realm, every level-up anybody spots reaches everyone within seconds, and an animated leaderboard shows the passes as they happen: bold name, a slide past the players overtaken, and confetti.

## ✨ Features

### 🏁 Live leaderboard
- Open it with `/ftf` or a click on the minimap button.
- Switch between **Overall**, **your class**, **your race** or **your guild**.
- Passes play out on screen: the passer goes bold and gold, slides up past the players they beat, then a flash, confetti, a "+N" badge and a sound.
- It's see-through while nothing happens, so it sits lightly over your game, and turns solid for a few seconds whenever the board changes.
- WoW Forever's full "First Surname" names are used everywhere, so "Alice Smith" and "Alice Smithers" never get mixed up.

### 🎙️ The Wrestling Announcer (new in 2.3.0)
Over 270 voice lines from a commentator who has seen it all and respects none of it.
- **A pass in the top 10:** *"THE KING HAS FALLEN! LONG LIVE THIS OTHER IDIOT!"*
- **First place changes hands:** *"STOP THE PRESSES! THERE'S BEEN A COUP!"*
- **Somebody passes YOU:** *"THERE GOES YOUR LEAD! THERE GOES YOUR DIGNITY!"*
- **You level up:** *"NEVER IN MY THIRTY YEARS OF COMMENTARY HAVE I WITNESSED... a level seventeen."* (every level from 2 to 60 has its own lines)
- **You level up twice in a row:** *"BACK TO BACK! HAS ANYBODY SEEN THIS MAN BLINK?!"*
- **Rare milestones:** the realm's first to 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60, two players trading places over and over, a huge comeback, a runaway lead, and a former #1 taking the crown back (*"THE RETURN OF THE KING! THE SEQUEL NOBODY ASKED FOR!"*).

It plays one line per moment, always the most important one, with some quiet in between. It never shouts about old data catching up from a sync, only about moves happening right now. Everything is adjustable in **Settings > Announcer**, and `/ftf quiet` cuts a line off mid-sentence.

### 🔍 Shared /who scanning
- The addon runs a /who scan with your clicks in the world, at most once every 10 seconds, one class or race at a time.
- Every addon user shares what they find on a hidden realm channel for your faction, so a ding spotted by one player shows up for everyone within seconds.
- Scanners split the boards between them, so **more users means fresher boards, not more load on the server.**

### 🛡️ Guild features (opt-in)
- **Rank changes in guild chat:** "[First to Forever] Tarek Ironhide (23 Shaman) passed Mira Ashford for #3 in the race!"
- **Guild level-up congrats** with each member's rank in the guild: "Rowan Hale (Warrior) reached level 24 and is #2 of 37 in the guild. Congrats!"
- Filters, a rate limit, and **exactly one post per event**, however many guildies run the addon.

### 🏆 Pioneers
A record of the first player on the realm to reach every level, overall and per class.

### 🧪 Test lab
Try every part of the addon before the realm even opens. Play a fake race on the live board, preview chat and guild messages, browse and play every announcer line, fire every announcer trigger, run a /who scan on demand, or check your network connection. Test races are marked TEST and never touch your saved leaderboards, guild chat or other players.

## ❓ FAQ

**Why does a /who scan happen when I click?**
The game only allows /who from a real click or key press, so the addon sends one with your normal clicks in the world, no more than every 10 seconds. You can change the interval or turn key-press scanning off in **Settings > Scanning**.

**I don't hear the announcer.**
It plays on the Master channel by default, so it works even with game sounds off. Check **Settings > Announcer** is on and that your Master volume isn't muted. If you installed or updated the addon while the game was running, **restart the game**: WoW only finds new sound files at startup, and a /reload isn't enough.

**The announcer is too much.**
Raise the minimum time between lines, limit it to the top 5, set level-up lines to only you or nobody, or switch it off entirely. It's all in **Settings > Announcer**.

**I used WoWForeverRace. Do I need both?**
No, and please don't run both. First to Forever speaks the same protocol on the same channel, so you still share the race with WoWForeverRace users. Disable WoWForeverRace (the addon warns you if both are on). Saved data doesn't carry over; the boards refill from scans and syncs within minutes.

**Why is the download 13 MB?**
That's the announcer's 270+ voice lines. The code itself is small.

**What happens to the beta data?**
Race data collected before the realm launch is wiped automatically once the launch passes, so everyone starts the real race clean.
