What is it?
Fireside Friends gives you something to say when you pull up a seat at a campfire in WoW: Forever.
I made Fireside Friends for people who want to join in but feel shy or hesitate to start a conversation. Sometimes saying the first hello is the hardest part. My hope is a greeting or a terrible joke helps get people talking.
Greet your fellow travelers, offer a playful hello, or subject everyone nearby to a dad joke. Messages go to /say, so nobody needs to join your party to hear them. Whether they stay for the punchline is another matter.
The addon includes 170 greetings and jokes, with general lines alongside race- and class-themed options. Lines rotate through your eligible collection before repeating.
Jokes with a setup and punchline take two clicks. After the setup, the button glows and changes to “Deliver the Punchline.” Single-line jokes take one click.
Make it your own!
Write your own greetings and jokes in the custom-line editor. Choose which races and classes should use each entry, add an optional punchline, and decide whether to use the default library, your custom library, or both.
Share your custom entries with friends through export and import codes. Imports include a preview and duplicate checks, so you choose what to keep without overwriting your existing lines.
A few extras:
Enable a chance for your character’s voiced /hello or /silly emote to replace a text line. Adjust the percentage or leave it off for text only.
The regular Greet button addresses your targeted player by name if they are within range.
The compact window starts hidden. Open it whenever you want, or enable automatic opening when you're affected by the camp buff (which you can customize). A five-second cooldown helps prevent accidental repeat clicks.
Commands
/ff or /firesidefriends opens or hides the main window.
/ff settings opens settings and your custom lines.
/ff animation toggles the opening animation.
Other players do not need Fireside Friends installed to hear your greetings and jokes.
DISCLAIMER:
**I used Codex to help write the addon’s code and develop its greetings and jokes. I directed the features and design, reviewed the dialogue, and have tested the addon in-game. Fireside Friends does not use AI while you play. Its greetings and jokes come from saved libraries.**
