EzKOS changelog
v1.0.4 (2026-10-07)
Everyone in the guild should update: older versions reject Recent enemies adds made more than 10 minutes after the death (this version allows 30).
- Auto-add is now killing blow only. When you die to enemy players, the last hit in your death recap is added with "Ganked guildmate <you> in <zone>". If the recap names no players, it doesn't count as a PvP death: nobody is added, no rally, nothing in Recent enemies.
- New Recent enemies list: the other players named in your death recap (everyone else who hit you). Only you see your Recent enemies; it's never sent to anyone. It keeps names for 1 hour, 30 at most. You can add people from it within 30 minutes of that death (members and officers alike). Guildmates' addons check that an added name was in your death, so nobody can add random players.
- The "Tell the guild when I'm slain" and "Auto-add whoever kills me" options are gone: every PvP death now rallies the guild and adds the killing blow. Adding from Recent enemies no longer depends on a setting.
- Officers (the GM and the rank below) can still add anyone by hand (
/kos add, Add to KOS, Add target). A member's plain/kos addis still refused. - Most wanted counts killing blows only. Older death records still count everyone listed.
- The rally alert and your "you were slain" line name the killing blow plus "and N others". The Discord SLAIN line names only the killing blow.
- One EzKOS window with tabs: KOS list, Enemy guilds, Recent enemies and Leaderboard, plus a
Settings button that opens the options.
/kosalways opens on KOS list,/kos top(or/kos board) on Leaderboard,/kos bulkon KOS list in bulk edit (bulk edit is on Enemy guilds too). Minimap drawer entry: left-click KOS list, right-click Leaderboard. - Recent enemies rows show the name, a "killing blow" tag, guild, zone and minutes ago, with an Add button, or "on the list" / "too late". Add opens a text box for your reason (60 characters max), filled in with "Ganked guildmate <you> in <zone>"; in combat it skips the box and uses that reason. Hover the "?" icon on the tab for an explanation of the list.
- In combat the window is frozen: tabs don't switch and the list doesn't change or close. It updates after combat.
- The rally alert (guildmate slain) now plays the same raid warning sound as the other alerts.
v1.0.3 (2026-10-05)
- New EzKOS alert banner (with the EzKOS logo) instead of Blizzard's raid warning text. Alerts are colored by type: red for a KOS player near you, yellow for a guildmate's sighting, orange when a guildmate is slain. It fades out after a few seconds.
- Default spots: the banner sits just above Blizzard's raid warnings and the popup with its Target button just below them, so nothing overlaps (measured from the game's own frames, so it fits any resolution or UI scale).
/kos move(or Options > EzKOS > Move) now moves the banner too; Reset puts both back.- Adding players by hand (
/kos add, Add to KOS, Add target) is now for officers only (the GM and the rank below). Everyone's killers are still added automatically, every attacker in a group gank, as long as "Tell the guild when I'm slain" is on. A member's auto-add only counts next to their own death record, so nobody can put a stranger on the list to claim a kill. Entries members added by hand in earlier versions drop off the list. - Officer actions are judged by the rank the officer had at the time: an officer who's demoted keeps their entries, permanents, enemy guilds and settings (also for members who join later), and a member's actions from before a promotion don't start counting.
v1.0.2 (2026-10-05)
More fixes from the code review.
- Officers are now the GM and the rank directly below (guild ranks 0 and 1). Rank 2 no longer gets officer powers.
- Open-world PvP only: kills and sightings inside battlegrounds, arenas and dungeons are no longer recorded or shared (deaths already worked this way). You still get local warnings there, per your alert settings.
- Sightings that couldn't be sent within a minute (instances, busy channel) are dropped instead of arriving later as a fresh alert, and late arrivals are ignored.
- The KOS list is frozen in combat: rows can't change labels (and targets) mid-fight, and closing waits until combat ends.
- Killers from the death recap are found in long sessions too, and a recap that fills in a moment late is retried instead of falling back to a guess.
/kos statusshows the sync size, the weekly reset time and whether PvP tracking is on.- Smaller: less work on guild roster updates; sender names with a realm suffix are handled.
v1.0.1 (2026-10-05)
Security and reliability fixes from a code review. Everyone in the guild should update.
- Guild data stays in its guild: alts in other guilds never see or send it. Leaving or being kicked pauses EzKOS (your data is kept if you return); a new guild starts clean.
- An officer who leaves or is kicked keeps their past officer actions (removals, enemy guilds, settings) instead of them quietly undoing.
- Messages are only accepted from the guild channel, each player can only send their own changes, and officer-only changes can't be faked by other members.
- Names are strictly checked before they're stored or used by the Target button.
- Only whoever added an entry (or an officer) can change its reason, also via
/kos add. - Weekly/monthly winners can't be blocked by a member, and a failed post is retried.
- The keybind is now called "Target latest KOS" (what it always did; your binding is kept). In combat the popup says who its Target button really targets, and it updates after combat.
- Bulk edits are much faster, and a removal made in the same second as its add now sticks.
v1.0.0 (2026-10-05)
First public release for World of Warcraft: Forever.
- Shared guild KOS list, synced live between guildmates, including people who log in later.
- Whoever kills you is added automatically ("Ganked guildmate <you> in <zone>").
- Alerts when a KOS player is nearby, a "KOS spotted" alert for the guild, and a rally alert when a guildmate is slain: raid-warning banner, sound, and a movable popup with Target and Waypoint buttons.
- Enemy guild list with a quieter alert.
- Leaderboard: kills you took part in plus killing blows, all time / month / week.
- Reasons on every entry (60 characters), editable by whoever added them or an officer.
- Officer tools: permanent entries, expiry days, enemy guilds, bulk edit.
- Discord: kill and death lines through Blizzard's guild chat link, weekly and monthly winners.
Changes since v1.0.0-beta1: clearer /kos help text for the Discord modes.
