eXtreme Unit Buttons
Help and usage can be found here http:xub.abits.biz/
This highly configurable mod allows players to associate buttons to unit frames. It is meant as a replacement to GroupButtons which stopped functioning with the 2.0 patch in December 2006. The mod extends the capabilities of GroupButtons by providing these additional features:
- an unlimited number of buttons per unit frame
- Buttons which turn on/off depending on the amount of damage a unit has
- Buttons which are dimmed if a unit as that buff or a related buff applied.
- Buttons which appear when a debuff is applied to a unit.
- Buttons which allow you to have any type of "/" slash or macro command on a button
- A variety of a modes for different activities in the game. For example, a set of buttons for soloing, buttons for instances, buttons for raids, buttons for specific bosses (such as Baron Geddon in MC (to all priests to debuff), buttons for PvP, etc.
- Assign buttons to unit frames that when clicked cast spells on different units. This feature allows, for example, buffs and heals for the player unit to appear within the target buttons to minimize the amount of mouse movement between buttons.
- Works for any kind of non-casting classes; specifically warriors and rogues.

I was surprised to see a new version of this for Legion! Thank you so much!
I have been using this mod for so long, since TBC. It's had a few glitches but has proven itself so versatile and almost unbreakable over the years. Each expansion I've have to update some of the names of the spells which change of course, but this mod has been far more effective for me to use then something like Healium.
I also started using it in TBC, and took up maintenance when the devs quit updating it.
I stopped playing at the end of Cataclysm; got back in the beginning of WoD for a couple months and stopped again.
I don't really have the time to fix everything (especially since I am no longer playing), but I don't want it to die either, so I fixed the critical bugs that prevented it from running at least.
I am glad to see that it is still being used. If anyone knows a dev who wants to take over, or submit a patch feel free to message me. I will try to at least keep it usable, if not 100% fixed.

Not sure if you're still around and able to make any changes. I may try my hand at attempting to fix XUB. It appears XUB is quite a bit broken in patch 8.0. In general the mod still works and performs its general function. However what's broken is numerous other things that make it harder to use it more so than ever before. Problems I've noticed so far are:

If you know any other coders willing to have a look, that would be great! I would start with the patch notes and search for anything changed functions.

While I do quite a bit of web programming and like applications I know only a little about LUA, enough to make some personal error corrections here and there in the past. Usually I just check the LUA errors and attempt to make some fixes. I'd be glad to try to help some if I can. I've not really looked deeply into XUB LUA code since Cataclysm.
Anyways, I completely deleted my WTF folder and recreated an XUB profile from scratch. It seems to work OK for awhile except for the Refresh/Update as I still have to force that for Raid/Party changes, but I bound it to a macro so it's not as annoying. May have something to do with PARTY_CONVERTED_TO_RAID since patch 8.0.1. LUA error log seems to throw an error about it. From patch 8.0.1 notes: Frame:RegisterEvent now raises an error when trying to register an unknown event?
