Description
Explore Forever
WoW Forever keeps its world a secret until you find it. Explore Forever gives you somewhere to write it all down: a leather-bound Explorer’s Journal that fills itself in as you play.
Your journal starts empty. There’s no pre-made list of every creature in the game, and no spoilers. Every page is something you found yourself or heard about from a fellow explorer. Everything in the journal comes from playing. No datamining, nothing pulled from outside the game. Discovering the world is the whole point.
The Bestiary
- Every creature you meet is added to your Bestiary, with its own portrait.
- Each creature’s page shows how many you’ve defeated, whether it can be skinned, mined or gathered, the quests it’s part of, and your own loot table: what it actually dropped for you, and how often.
- Your Bestiary is shared across all your characters, so a new character’s journal is never blank.
- Hover over any creature in the world to see your notes on its tooltip: kills, gathering, best drops, and rare sightings.
Rumors from other explorers
Using our unique rumor system, when you meet another Explore Forever user, you exchange information, or “rumors,” about creatures and zones. Anything you haven’t discovered yet goes onto the Rumored pages of your journal, until you find it yourself and get a New creature discovered popup, which moves it into your Bestiary.
Rumors also travel through your guild and your group, so the more explorers you know, the more there is to find.
Rares
- A silver dragon on your minimap when a rare you know about is nearby.
- Each rare’s page remembers when and where it was last seen.
Maps and sightseeing
- A page for every zone you’ve visited, with the places you’ve seen and the ones still waiting to be found.
- Sightseeing milestones as you explore each zone and the world.
- Pins and a journal banner on the world map.
Discoveries
- Mark this spot saves anything worth remembering, like a hidden cave, a treasure or a great view, with your own note.
- Each discovery becomes a card with a close-up of the map showing exactly where it was.
- You can also have it take a screenshot every time you mark a spot (off by default).
Built to stay out of your way
- Discovery popups are styled like Blizzard’s achievements, and nothing ever pops up during combat.
- The journal closes itself when a fight starts.
- Settings live in the game’s own options window (Esc > Options > AddOns).
- Spoilers stay hidden unless you choose to turn them on.
