What's new

Experience Plus changelog

1.4.0

  • New option: Only count tracked quests. Off by default, so every completed quest counts as before
  • When it's on, only completed quests you're tracking count towards the quest segment, the "will level you up" check, and time and kills to level after turn-ins
  • Completed quests you aren't tracking still show in the tooltip, greyed out and marked "not tracked"
  • Tracking or untracking a quest updates the bar straight away

1.3.1

  • Kills to level now shows right away, before you've killed anything. Until then it's estimated from what a mob your level is worth
  • The tooltip says what the estimate is based on: mobs your level, your last kill, or the average of your last few kills (up to 15)
  • Your recent kill XP is remembered per character, so the estimate is ready as soon as you log in. Resetting the session no longer clears it

1.3.0

  • New: kills to level in the experience bar tooltip. It averages the XP from your last 15 kills and counts your rested XP, which doubles kill XP until it runs out
  • Also shows kills to level after handing in your completed quests, your average XP per kill (and while rested), and kills this session
  • /xpp report now includes kills to level

1.2.5

  • Fixed a custom XP or rested XP colour showing as uneven stripes of different brightness. The recoloured bar is now one smooth fill, the same as Blizzard's default

1.2.4

  • While you're rested, the whole bar now uses your Rested XP colour, the same way Blizzard turns it blue. When you're not rested it uses your XP colour
  • The rested XP past your current XP is shown in the rested colour, see-through, so it reads as lighter than the bar

1.2.3

  • Use Blizzard's colours now also resets the XP colour and rested XP colour squares in the options, not just the bar
  • The colour squares also update when you pick a colour with /xpp color

1.2.2

  • A custom rested XP colour is now clearly visible. Blizzard draws rested XP underneath the bar's dark background, which made a recoloured one very faint, so Experience Plus now draws it on the bar itself
  • The standalone bar shows a custom rested XP colour at the same strength

1.2.1

  • XP colour now colours your experience all the time, including while you're rested. Before, the bar switched to the rested XP colour while you were rested
  • Rested XP colour now only colours your rested XP, the stretch past your current XP
  • Left at their defaults, both still use Blizzard's own bar, which turns blue while you're rested

1.2.0

  • New option: XP colour, for your experience when you're not rested
  • New option: Rested XP colour, for your experience while you're rested and for the rested XP beyond it. This follows Blizzard's own rule of turning the bar blue while you're rested
  • Both start as Blizzard's colours, and Blizzard's own bar art is left untouched until you change them
  • Use Blizzard's colours button puts both back in one click
  • The standalone bar uses the same XP and rested XP colours
  • New commands: /xpp color xp, /xpp color restedxp, /xpp color blizzard. The rested overlap colour is now /xpp color overlap (/xpp color rested still works)

1.1.0

  • The quest segment no longer hides your rested XP. Where the two overlap, that part of the segment is drawn in its own colour (soft teal by default)
  • New option: Colour the rested overlap, on by default. Turn it off for a single-colour segment as before
  • New option: Rested overlap colour, with a colour picker. Also available with /xpp color rested

1.0.0 — First release

  • Shows the XP from quests that are ready to hand in as a coloured segment on the experience bar, starting where your current XP ends
  • A spark marks where you'll land after turning in. If your turn-ins would level you, the segment fills to the end of the bar
  • Optional soft glow on the segment that speeds up when your turn-ins would level you
  • Colour presets (Mint, Gold, Sky, Lavender, Rose and Peach), plus a colour picker for any colour. Mint is the default
  • Hover the experience bar for each completed quest and its XP, the total and how much of the level it covers, XP per hour, time to level, time to level after turn-ins, and session length and XP gained
  • XP per hour is averaged over your recent play (15 minutes by default, adjustable from 5 to 60) and over the whole session
  • The session carries over through a /reload, and through a relog within 15 minutes. Shift-Right-Click the bar to reset it
  • Works on Blizzard's own experience bar wherever it sits in Edit Mode, and hides at max level
  • Optional standalone bar for UI addons that hide Blizzard's bar. It can be moved and resized
  • Options under Options → AddOns → Experience Plus
  • Slash commands: /xpp, /xpp report, /xpp color, /xpp reset, /xpp standalone, /xpp lock, /xpp unlock
  • Supports WoW: Forever (16001)
