# Expanded Input

WoW's chat input is a single line, so long emotes and replies scroll out of view while you write them. **Expanded Input** shows a word-wrapped copy of your text in a panel that grows out of the chat box, so you can read back your whole post before you send it.

## Features
- **Growing preview panel**: expands up, down, or automatically towards the side with the most room.
- **Click to edit**: click in the panel to move your cursor there, drag to select, double-click to select a word. Then just keep typing.
- **RP colours**: "speech", \*emotes\* and ((OOC)) are coloured the way Total RP 3 shows them after sending.
- **Info line**: channel, character count, and roughly how many posts your message will be split into.
- **Works with WIM**: sits on top of the whole message window, so replies stay readable.
- **Midnight-aware**: pauses itself during boss encounters, Mythic+ and PvP, and switches back on afterwards.

## Good to know
Expanded Input doesn't replace your chat or split messages. You still type in WoW's normal input box, so all your chat settings stay as they are. For posts longer than 255 characters, use a post splitter such as Chattery or EmoteSplitter alongside it.

Tested with Chattery, Total RP 3, WIM, Eavesdropper, Languages, ClickLinks, Simply RP – Typing Tracker and StoryTeller.

Type `/ei` for the settings or `/ei help` for all commands.
