EWE Cooldown Planner

A lightweight raid cooldown planner for MoP Classic 5.4 / 5.5 10-man raids. Plan, assign, and broadcast cooldowns to your raid; receivers get pop-up alerts the moment their CDs are due. Built and battle-tested by <Es war einmal> on EU-Everlook (Alliance) for Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar progression.

What it does

You build a cooldown plan for a boss — Heroism on pull, Devotion Aura at 30%, Spirit Link Totem 8s after the third Rampage — and the addon takes care of the rest. During the fight, every player gets their own cooldown popped up at exactly the right moment.

After the fight, you get a usage report: how many of your assignments fired correctly, plus a raid-wide total. The loop is plan → sync → pull → review.

Three trigger types

Schedule cooldowns relative to:

Time on the pull timer — 30s, 1:15, or -3 for pre-pull pots
A boss spell cast — on cast #2, 5s before cast #4, or recurring (every 3rd Kick)
Boss health percentage — at 30% below, at 75% above

Profiles per encounter

Multiple plans per boss — Normal/Heroic, prog vs farm, whatever you need. Instant switching, rename/duplicate/delete from the UI. Profiles are stored per encounter, so swapping between bosses keeps everyone's setups intact.

Raid sync in one click

Push your plan to the entire raid in one click. Receivers see exactly what you see, no manual import needed. The throttled send queue handles WoW's addon-message rate limit gracefully — auto-retries on drops, around 10 seconds for a 30-assignment profile.

Set-and-forget for raid members

Once a member has installed the addon and positioned the alert frame, they need to do nothing else. Synced profiles activate automatically at every encounter start. You don't need to teach the addon to your raid — they install it, drag the alert frame somewhere comfortable, and you're done.

Auto-sync on pull timer

Optional toggle (raid-leader only). Click your pull timer, the sync goes out automatically during the countdown. Smart-skips if you already synced manually within the last 30 seconds.

Personal mode

Optional opt-out for raid members who want to manage their own CD plan. With personal mode on, only your own assignments fire — synced raid-leader data is ignored, and you'll never accidentally broadcast your assignments out. Useful if your RL doesn't run the addon, or for solo CD planning. Off by default.

Configurable alert hold time

The big "USE NOW" alert lingers 4 seconds by default. Need a longer reaction window? Toggle the hold time to +1s or +2s in the settings popup. Click any alert to dismiss it immediately — useful for keeping the display tidy when you've already used the cooldown.

Encounter-end usage report

After each fight, see how many of your assignments fired correctly, plus a raid-wide total:

Encounter end: 4/4 yours (100%)  17/22 total (77%). Victory!

The "yours" count is reliable (your client always sees your own casts). The "total" is best-effort. Colour-coded by completion percentage.

Class cooldowns built in — with buff durations

Full database for all 11 MoP classes with buff durations shown directly in the labels:

Berserk (Feral 15s / Guard 10s)
Pillar of Frost (Frost, 20s, +Str)
Shield Wall (12s, 40% DR)
Avenging Wrath (20s, +20% dmg/heal)

Defensive, offensive, talents, racials, plus DPS/Survival/Mana potions and Healthstone. Generic virtual cooldowns (any defensive, any heal, any offensive, any kick, any trinket) for when the specific cooldown doesn't matter.

Boss cooldown database

Pre-loaded with cast IDs for all 12 Throne of Thunder and 14 Siege of Orgrimmar bosses (6–12 important spells per boss). Just pick the boss and the spell from a dropdown.

Edit-in-place

Click the E button on any assignment row to load it back into the form, change anything, click Update. No more delete-and-recreate.

Import / Export

Copy-paste-friendly text format for sharing plans on Discord or between guilds.

Custom encounters

Define your own boss IDs for testing or for raids the addon doesn't recognise.

Pull timer

Shared raid-wide countdown. Pre-pull cooldowns (negative time triggers) fire correctly during the countdown.

4-slot stacked alert display

Up to 4 simultaneous alerts visible at once, with progress bars and auto-hide. Drag to reposition.

Slash commands

/cdp shows the help. The most useful commands:

/cdp show — toggle the planner window
/cdp boss <name> — quickly select an encounter
/cdp pull <seconds> — start a pull timer
/cdp sync — push current plan to the raid
/cdp profile use <name> — switch profiles
/cdp personal — toggle personal mode

Why another cooldown planner?

There are excellent existing addons (ExRT, MRT) but they're heavyweight, hard to teach to new raid members, and the share format isn't great for quick iteration. EWE Cooldown Planner was built specifically for small (10-man) MoP Classic guilds where:

Setup time per raid member should be near zero
Plans need to iterate fast — try a new strat, edit the assignment, click sync, done
The raid leader does the work; everyone else just sees their alerts

Origin

Built and maintained by the <Es war einmal> 10-man raiding guild on EU-Everlook (Alliance) for our Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar progression. We've competed at the top of all Alliance ranks in speed (rank 1 on multiple ToT bosses) and built this tool because nothing on the market quite fit our workflow.

Status

Stable for 10-man use. Heavily tested in real progression raids. Bug reports welcome.
