Guild Rank-Targeted Whispering System (GRTW)

Project Overview

The Guild Rank-Targeted Whispering System is a dynamic automation add-on designed to optimize guild mobilization, event attendance, and urgent communication. Instead of relying on passive guild notices or massive, easily ignored chat blasts, this add-on enables officers to send personalized, sequential whispers to guild members based strictly on their hierarchy rank. This ensures that the most critical or active players are mobilized first before expanding the call to the rest of the roster.

Core Features & Mechanics

1. Hierarchical Priority Cascading (Sequential Mobilization)

When a call to arms or an event notification is triggered, the add-on doesn't flood the entire guild at once (which can trigger in-game spam filters or cause chaotic group formations). Instead, it operates on a top-down cascade logic:

• Tier 1 (Leadership Mobilization): Whispers are dispatched exclusively to online Officers to secure leadership presence.

• Tier 2 (Core Members): If the group or raid still has open slots, the add-on moves down to high-ranking veteran or core progression ranks.

• Tier 3 (General Membership): If slots remain unfilled after a designated cooldown, the whisper rolls out to general and lower-tier ranks until the raid or event roster is completely full.

2. Dynamic Roster Throttle

To prevent overwhelming the raid leader with a sudden influx of whisper replies or group invites, the add-on helps whisper target ranks to fill. 

Key Use Cases & Examples

Use Case A: Urgent World PvP & Defense Mobilization

• Scenario: A major faction hub (e.g., Durotar) is actively being invaded by the opposing faction. The World PvP defense group is forming rapidly, but needs more numbers to push back the raid.

• Add-on Workflow:

  1. The Battle Master triggers an urgent defensive alert via the add-on.

  2. The add-on immediately whispers online Officers: "[Guild Alert]: Durotar is under heavy attack! Securing leadership for the counter-raid. Reply '1' for an invite."

  3. Two minutes later, if the raid is only at 18/40 players, it cascades down to Veteran and Core PVP ranks.

  4. If numbers are still needed, it initiates a wide sweep to the lowest ranks to maximize the defensive zerg.

Use Case B: Cross-Platform Event Bridging (Discord Backup)

• Scenario: A major guild event or tournament is scheduled, but several members are currently logged into the game and haven't checked the Discord notification channels.

• Add-on Workflow:

  1. An organizer runs the event notification module.

  2. The add-on whispers online members based on rank priority: "[Guild Event]: Our weekly tournament is starting shortly! If you missed the Discord sign-up but want to participate, reply 'INV' now. Slots are limited!"

Use Case C: RSVP Reminder & Group Formation Countdown

• Scenario: An important raid or event is scheduled to start soon. The group is forming, but signed-up players are scattered across the world doing dailies or farming.

• Add-on Workflow:

  1. The add-on starts sending out whispers based on rank selected.

  2. It sends a targeted, time-sensitive warning: "[Guild Reminder]: The group for tonight's run is forming in 15 minutes. Please head to the instance portal or reply 'READY' for a summon."
