EnemyClassicBuffs

EnemyClassicBuffs is a World of Warcraft Classic Era addon that displays target buffs and debuffs in two separate, configurable frames.

The addon combines aura information provided by the Blizzard API with aura data reconstructed from the combat log. This allows it to supplement information that is no longer fully exposed by the standard Classic Era API.

Aura Layout

Icons are arranged in normal reading order:

1. The first icon starts at the top-left corner.
2. Additional icons grow from left to right.
3. When a row is full, the next row begins below it.

The buff and debuff frames use their own internal icon containers so their layout remains independent from target-frame replacements and UI skins.

Configuration

Open the addon settings with:

/ecb

The buff and debuff frames can be configured independently.

## Moving the Frames

1. Open the settings with `/ecb`.
2. Enable **Unlock Buff Frame** or **Unlock Debuff Frame**.
3. Drag the title area marked `UNLOCKED`.
4. Disable the unlock option after positioning the frame.

Real target auras remain visible while the frame is unlocked. Test icons can be enabled separately if no suitable target is available.

Command	Description
`/ecb`	Opens the addon settings.
`/ecb buffs`	Locks or unlocks the buff frame.
`/ecb debuffs`	Locks or unlocks the debuff frame.
`/ecb bufftest`	Enables or disables buff test icons.
`/ecb debufftest`	Enables or disables debuff test icons.

The available commands are printed in the chat window the first time the addon is loaded.

How Aura Tracking Works

EnemyClassicBuffs reads all target auras that are available through the Blizzard aura API.

For attackable targets, the addon also uses an embedded and isolated version of LibClassicDurations to reconstruct aura information from combat-log events. API and combat-log records are then merged by spell ID.

When both sources report the same aura:

- Blizzard API data is preferred for the aura identity and stack count.
- Combat-log timing can fill missing duration and expiration information.

When only the combat log reports an active timed aura, EnemyClassicBuffs can add it to the display and marks it with a blue `L`.

Important Limitations

Blizzard intentionally restricts some enemy aura information in Classic Era. Combat-log reconstruction can supplement the available data, but it cannot guarantee complete or perfectly accurate enemy buff information.

Possible limitations include:

- An aura may not be detected if the relevant combat-log event was not observed.
- Tracking may begin after an aura was already applied.
- Some spells have durations or behavior that cannot be reconstructed reliably.
- Server, range, phasing, and combat-log restrictions may affect available information.
- Permanent or hidden enemy effects may remain unavailable.
- Combat-log-only records can differ from Blizzard's internal aura state.

The addon does not bypass protected game systems. It only uses information exposed through the Blizzard API and combat log.
