Embertale

EmberTales is a small roleplay companion for camping. When you settle down by a campfire, a window appears with buttons for roleplay emotes and jokes that actually fit the moment.

The addon knows where you are, what time it is, what class and race you play, and who you are sitting next to. In Duskwood it offers nervous glances into the dark, in Dun Morogh complaints about the snow and a snow leopard that ran off with your boot. Every zone has its own flavor, and forests, deserts, swamps and snow have fallback lines so you are never out of things to say.

Content is split over tabs so nothing gets crowded:

• General, everyday campfire behavior
• Zone, lines written for the specific area you are in
• Feast, cooking and drinking around the fire
• Social, class and race interactions that react to your target
• Time, night, morning, day and evening
• Jokes, short one liners told with /s and longer routines mixing emotes and punchlines
• Duo, two person emotes like offering a drinking horn or a blanket

Duo actions are the fun part. Target a party member and send them an offer. If they run EmberTales too they get a response popup with a few answers to pick from, and the whole exchange plays out in emotes. If they do not have the addon, your emote still goes out normally and the roleplay continues.

The interface is a dark modern panel with short labels on the buttons. Hover a button to read the full text in the tooltip before you send it.

Commands: /et toggles the window, /et auras dumps your current auras (useful if the addon does not notice your fire), /et auto toggles auto open, /et duo toggles duo requests.

Note: the addon detects the campfire through its buff rather than a sitting animation, so it works with real campfires, cooking fires and cozy fire buffs.
