Emberpath

Share a travel journal with friends: draw secret daily omens, leave campfire tales on the map, and replay everyone's trails together.

A travel journal for you and your friends

Emberpath turns your group's adventures into a shared story. Draw a secret omen at your first campfire, leave a trail as you travel, and gather around the fire at night to see how everyone did.

Daily omens

The first time you pitch camp each day, you draw a secret omen. Only you can see it. It might be a restriction ("No mount today"), a ritual ("/bow to every quest giver") or a goal ("Camp somewhere you have never camped before"). Emberpath notices some broken omens by itself, like a visit to the auction house on a "No auction house" day.

Campfires and tales

Every campfire you light appears on your friends' world maps. Right-click a campfire to leave a tale: a joke, a warning ("Elite patrols here, RUN") or a memory. Campfires with tales stay on the map forever.

Ghost trails

Your route is drawn on the world map as a colored line that connects your campfires, so your day reads like a journey. Trails fade over a week, so the map stays clean. Replay the whole day's trails, sped up, with everyone's paths drawn across the map together.

The Gathering

When you camp next to a friend, or at the Gathering hour (21:00 by default), the fire flares up. Everyone reveals their omen, says whether they honored or broke it, and the group votes on whether to believe them. Trails turn red on days when an omen was broken.

Omens cannot be swapped or rerolled. Your addon proves to your friends that the omen you reveal is the one you drew in the morning.

The Ember Ledger

A record of campfires lit, distance travelled, and omens honored or broken, with weekly titles like The Wanderer, The Pathfinder and The Oathkeeper, plus every campfire tale your group has told.

How to use it

  • /ember: open the window (or use the addon menu on the minimap)
  • /pitch: pitch a campfire where you stand. Campfires you build in the game are detected automatically.
  • /ember tale <text>: leave a tale at the nearest campfire
  • /ember gather: start the Gathering now
  • /ember replay: replay today's trails on the world map

Good to know

  • Every friend needs Emberpath installed. It syncs through guild chat, and through party or raid chat when you are grouped. No website or account is needed.
  • Friends catch up on each other's campfires and trails even if they are never online at the same time.
  • Trial accounts cannot send addon messages, so they can see the circle but cannot share.
  • Emberpath is new and still in testing. Please report bugs in the comments.
