Eloquence-2.8.4.zip
What's new
Void Elves and Worgen no longer perform emotes they never typed.
A Void Elf's chat could have Void whispers inserted into it.
The asterisks are the problem. On a roleplaying realm those mean an emote, so the character appeared to do something they never wrote. And with outgoing rewriting switched on it was not just a local effect — the invented emote was sent, and everyone in range read it as roleplay.
Worgen flavour did the same thing with *grrr* and *low growl*.
Both are removed, and the rule behind it now applies to every dialect: Eloquence changes how a line is worded, never what was said. It will not add an emote, an action, or a line of dialogue your character did not type. An emote you did write is untouched, as always.
Void Elves keep their voice — the formal register, the expanded contractions, and a vocabulary that keeps circling back to silence and the dark. That says the same thing about the character without writing their lines for them.
If you are on 2.8.3, this is worth updating for promptly.
Reported by two people on Argent Dawn (EU):
Anadelonbrin, creeped out by the voices in her head, and Vynlor, saying creepy stuff — both due to a void elf bug.
