Description
Echoes of Azeroth
Turn your adventures through Azeroth into a growing collection of creature, equipment, and spell cards.
Echoes of Azeroth adds a collectible card progression system alongside your normal World of Warcraft adventures. Explore, defeat enemies, complete quests, and discover cards that help shape what you find next.
Build your own collection
Every character has their own self-found collection. Cards, progression, and banked creatures belong to the character that discovers them. Your alts build their own collections.
Carry up to four creature cards at a time. Additional creature finds go straight to your Card Bank, where duplicate discoveries can still enhance them. Equipment, spell/ability cards, and critters do not use those four slots.
To exchange banked creatures, leave combat and rest at an inn or in a city, or use Welcoming Campfire. Open the bank icon beside your collection and drag a banked creature into your Card Team. Unequip an active creature before banking it.
Browse your creatures, equipment, spells, and critters in the Collection Journal.
Find your companions
Creature cards have their own levels, rarity, card quality, and named Type Bonuses. Choose a creature type that supports the cards you want to find:
| Creature type | Discovery specialty |
|---|---|
| Beast | Creature |
| Dragonkin | Creature and Spell |
| Demon | Spell and Holofoil |
| Elemental | Spell |
| Giant | Creature and Equipment |
| Undead | Equipment and Spell |
| Humanoid | Equipment |
| Mechanical | Equipment and Chest |
Type Bonuses grow as creatures level. Types with two specialties divide their total bonus between those categories. Inspect the bonus to see its current values.
Equip supported creatures with armor, weapons, shields, held offhands, and compatible spell/action cards. Critters have their own companion slot and bring additional perks.
Beasts follow a different path
Beast cards cannot wear equipment or wield weapons, shields, or held offhands. Their equipment slots are hidden, and equipment bonuses do not apply to them. Switching to a Beast does not delete your stored equipment.
Beasts compensate with family-specific abilities and Untamed Potential, which supplies natural discovery bonuses while equipped. These bonuses grow with level, rarity, and card quality, with different families favoring different discovery categories.
Beast abilities have their own triggers, durations, and cooldowns. Holofoil Beasts also receive a special Holofoil ability. Beasts still attack and can use compatible spell/action cards.
Chase better cards
Discover creatures across five rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Card quality is separate from rarity: cards can have one, two, or three quality stars, or Holofoil, the highest quality.
Duplicate creature finds can improve an existing card while preserving its level, XP, rarity, and named Type Bonus. Holofoil quality is available beyond Beasts, but special Holofoil creature abilities currently belong to Beasts.
Spell cards progress through 12 ranks, with Rank 12 reserved for level 60 enemies. Higher-rank discoveries replace lower ranks, keep your level progress, and raise the card’s level cap. Each new rank rolls fresh quality. At the same rank, another discovery only improves the card if it rolls better quality.
Make your adventures matter
Your creature’s combat powers a collection boon system. Weapon hits can trigger discovery effects and build stacks. Ladder Buffs convert enough stacks of one tier into a stronger tier. Equipped spell/action cards provide their own discovery effects, shields respond to your character’s blocks, and held offhands can enhance weapon effects or respond to your spell casts.
Creatures pause weapon attacks while casting, and a weapon hit must land before the next automatic cast in combat. Hover over buff icons to inspect active stacks, values, and remaining duration.
Depending on the ability or perk, your setup can also respond to discoveries, quest turn-ins, resting, leveling, gathering, opening chests, and manual activation. Read each tooltip for its trigger and requirements.
Inspect inventory during combat, then change equipment once combat ends.
Benefit from your race and class
Your character’s race and class contribute their own collection boons. These add percentage points to the relevant discovery chance: a +1 point bonus changes a 15% chance to 16%.
Racial boons
| Race | Boon | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Human | Persistent Curiosity | +1 point to Creature Discovery |
| Dwarf | Loot Collector | +1 point to Equipment Discovery |
| Night Elf | Nature’s Bounty | Gathering grants stacking discovery bonuses |
| Gnome | Fizzle Focus | +2 points to Spell Discovery |
| Highborne | Ancient Appraisal | +0.5 points to Holofoil Discovery |
| Orc | Spoils of Victory | +1 point to Equipment Discovery |
| Troll | Da Good Stuff | +1 point to Creature Discovery |
| Tauren | Earthmother’s Gifts | Gathering grants stacking discovery bonuses |
| Undead | Grave Knowledge | +2 points to Spell Discovery |
For Night Elves and Tauren, each successful gather adds 0.25 points to Creature, Equipment, and Spell Discovery. This stacks five times, up to +1.25 points in each category. The bonus lasts three minutes, and another successful gather refreshes its duration.
Class boons
Every 100 points in the listed character stat adds 1 percentage point to its discovery category. Partial amounts count too: 37 stat points provide +0.37 percentage points.
| Class | Boon | Stat | Improves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Spoils of Strength | Strength | Equipment Discovery |
| Paladin | Providence | Spirit | Equipment Discovery |
| Hunter | Tracker’s Instinct | Agility | Creature Discovery |
| Rogue | Sleight of Hand | Agility | Equipment Discovery |
| Priest | Revelation | Spirit | Spell Discovery |
| Shaman | Ancestral Insight | Intellect | Creature Discovery |
| Mage | Scholarly Pursuit | Intellect | Spell Discovery |
| Warlock | Forbidden Knowledge | Stamina | Spell Discovery |
| Druid | Nature’s Communion | Spirit | Creature Discovery |
Class boons update as your relevant stat changes, including changes from gear and buffs. Hover over your racial and class boon icons to see their current benefits.
Open dungeon boosters
Complete supported dungeons to earn booster packs featuring dungeon-themed artwork and card reveals. Close an unfinished pack during its reveals and return to continue opening it later. If you close it before revealing any cards, its opening animation plays again when you return.
Make it your own
Compare creatures and equipment, inspect your discovery bonuses, and customize your on-screen companion display. Optional combat effects bring your cards to life and can be disabled while their gameplay effects continue working.
First-time notifications introduce systems as you encounter them. For a searchable reference, open Tutorials/Help in Options or type /eoa help.
Designed to grow alongside you from level one, but you can begin collecting at any level.
EoA’s bonuses affect its card-collection systems. They do not increase your character’s actual combat stats, deal additional damage to WoW enemies, or improve ordinary WoW loot drops.
