EasyGuildInvite 0.2.1-forever
What's new
EasyGuildInvite – World of Warcraft: Forever
0.2.1-forever
- Replaces the message-only workaround with a full EasyGuildInvite backup/restore format.
- Full backups now include all addon-owned SavedVariables:
EasyGuildInviteSettings,EGI_DB, andEGI_MemberHistory. - This covers custom Whisper/Welcome messages, addon settings, counters/database values, and member history insofar as they are stored by EasyGuildInvite.
- Adds a visible Backup / Restore All Data button to both the Whisper and Welcome settings panels on Forever, so users do not need to know the
/egibackupcommand. - Adds an in-panel explanation that the Forever client may reset SavedVariables after login.
- Keeps
/egibackupas an optional shortcut to the same full backup window. - Keeps Blizzard's normal SavedVariables mechanism enabled; the manual backup is a defensive fallback rather than a replacement.
0.2.0-forever
- Promotes the Forever package from beta labeling to a normal release channel.
- Adds
/egibackup, a dedicated manual backup/restore window for custom Whisper and Welcome messages. - The backup format is text-based so users can copy it outside the game and restore it after login if the Forever client fails to reload SavedVariables.
- Keeps normal Blizzard SavedVariables enabled; the workaround does not replace or corrupt the standard persistence mechanism.
- Shows a one-time session notice on Forever explaining the current client-side SavedVariables restore problem and pointing users to
/egibackup. - Keeps all prior Forever hardening: Interface 16001, level cap 60, modern secure guild actions, click-assisted invites, guarded
/who, secret-value handling, and protected API isolation.
Important persistence note
World of Warcraft: Forever currently has a client-side issue reported across multiple addons where SavedVariables can be written to disk but are not reliably restored after login/reload. EasyGuildInvite cannot force the game client to load those files. Version 0.2.x therefore provides an explicit external-copy backup/restore workflow so users can protect their EasyGuildInvite data until the client issue is fixed.
0.1.1-forever-beta
- Adds an explicit load-time Forever/Camelot flavor marker instead of relying on runtime project/API heuristics.
- Keeps the modern secure Retail-derived controllers while treating Forever as its own client flavor.
- Pins recruitment/search level handling to the Forever level cap of 60.
- Expands secret-value helpers so unsafe numeric/string coercion can be rejected defensively.
- Keeps guild invites click-assisted and synchronous with a real hardware event; no timer-driven protected invite fallback is introduced.
- Keeps
/whoon the guarded modernC_FriendListpath and avoids replacing Blizzard global APIs. - Retains guild sync exclusively over the
GUILDaddon-message channel. - Adds diagnostics metadata for the expected Forever Interface 16001 target.
0.1.0-forever-beta
- Initial beta support for World of Warcraft: Forever 1.60.1 (Interface 16001).
- Based on the hardened modern/Retail code path because Forever exposes the modern secure addon API surface.
- Adds explicit Forever client detection and a level-60 recruitment/search cap.
- Keeps protected guild actions behind user hardware events and avoids recreating or replacing Blizzard API globals.
- Adds secret-value detection helpers for future Forever-specific hardening.
- Reuses the existing localization, guild roster, recruitment, diagnostics, minimap, quick-message, welcome-message, and raid-tool modules where their APIs are available.
