DripCheck — Gear Comparison with a Drip Score
DripCheck adds a “Drip Score” (0–100) to your item tooltips when you hover gear. It compares the hovered item to what you’re currently wearing and answers the question Blizzard never dared to:
“Is this an upgrade… or is it just cool?”
What it does
Automatically compares the hovered item to your currently equipped item in the appropriate slot
Objective Score (Stats): a weighted stat-based heuristic (includes item level/rarity; weapon DPS where applicable)
Style Score (Drip): a consistent “cool factor” heuristic (rarity/set/weapon bias)
Blends them using a Drip Coefficient (you control how much vanity matters)
Shows a tooltip breakdown: Drip Score, deltas, and a tiered verdict (“Drip Tax” thresholds)
Where it shows up
Normal hover tooltips (bags/loot/vendor)
Chat-linked items (clicked links)
