DreadAlmanac v 2.5.0
What's new
Dread Almanac – Changelog
2.5.0 (October 11, 2026)
New
- Login note about the Almanac layout: on your first three logins with 2.4.3, chat says what the new Almanac layout is and how to turn it on (
/da layout almanacor Settings > Page layout). If you switch to it, it stops; if you're already using it, you get one line on how to switch back to tables. - Maps lift off the page: click a map in the Almanac book (a Journal day, or Gathering > Map) and it comes off the page: the book dims and the map lies over it, much larger, as a torn sheet with a ragged, scorched edge and a soft shadow, with its trail, marks and pins. Zoom with the wheel or the buttons, drag to move, right-click for the whole map; the torn edge stays at the sides as you zoom. Click outside it, press Escape or the x to put it back; leaving the page puts it back too.
- Journal (new page, at the top of the sidebar): your story, a chapter for each day you played.
- Almanac layout: a book. The first page is the cover: your name, level, race and class, and where and when the journal began. Then every day is a spread, and the newest day opens first.
- Left page: the date and time played, a mark for each level reached that day (with the time and zone), and the day written up: where you spent it and around which subzones, dungeons, who you were with and for how long, quests turned in, kills or fights, any close call, deaths and what killed you, the best find, gold made or spent and XP earned, and places discovered. After that comes the time in each zone, with dotted leaders, and the quests you turned in.
- Right page: the main zone and day with a one-line tagline (A close call., A death., Into the dark., Level 26., Somewhere new., A busy day., A quiet day.). Under it is the zone's map with your route that day as a red trail, and markers where you levelled (the level number) or died (a skull), with hover details. Below are note cards pinned to the page: close call, death, best find, the item you picked up most and where from, who you were with, the level reached. A snapshot of the day's second zone shows the time you spent there.
- Table layout: one row per day, with where, levels gained, time played, quests, kills and deaths.
- Almanac layout: a book. The first page is the cover: your name, level, race and class, and where and when the journal began. Then every day is a spread, and the newest day opens first.
- Route trail: from now on your position is noted every 15 seconds while you move (and every 5 minutes when you don't), one trail per day, for the Journal's maps. Up to 2,500 points a day are kept, for 120 days. Level-ups and deaths now also record the exact spot on the map.
- Almanac view (Settings > Page layout): a second way to read every page, for anyone who'd rather not stare at tables. Table stays the default; the choice is saved for the character, so it holds through reloads and relogs.
/da layout(or/da layout almanac//da layout table) switches too.- An open book: in the Almanac layout every page is drawn as an open book inside the tome: two aged parchment pages with a shaded spine, in dark ink. Each group is a chapter with an ink diamond, a heading in the tome lettering and a rule, and its details (wrapping to a second line when long). Entries run down the pages, each with its picture (an item's icon in its quality colour with the count, a completed quest's reward, a quest-status mark, a spell's icon) or a small ink diamond, its name and up to three figures. Item and quest colours are darkened so they read on paper. The page flows onto as many pages as it needs: turn two at a time with the arrows at the bottom corners or the mouse wheel; page numbers sit at the foot of each page. Back and where you are sit at the top of the left page, and Sort at the top of the right (click for the next figure, right-click to flip). Clicking an entry opens it as its own spread: its picture, name and every figure with dotted leaders on the left, and its story (About this item / About this quest) on the right. Group > Diary and Gathering > Map are books too: the diary as entries with Add note, and the map with your zones and kinds on the left page and the zone's map on the right.
- A page for each entry: clicking a tile opens a page with the large icon, every figure the table has for it, and for items an About this item section. It covers what the item is (type, slot, item level, required level, stack size, vendor price), how many you have in your bags and bank, what the item's own tooltip says (Use, Equip, Crafting Reagent and so on), and what it's for: the crafts you've used it in and how often, what you've made, the quests that reward it, and the dungeon bosses that drop it (with the drop chance). It also has your history with the item: what you've picked up and from where, sold, bought (and from whom), put on the auction house, and when you first found it.
- Back and breadcrumbs: a bar over each page shows where you are (e.g. Collection > By quality > Rare > the item) with a Back button. Back also works through tiles that lead to another page, such as picking a dungeon, and returns you to where you were scrolled.
- Dungeon Loot: a dungeon's page opens with its name in large lettering, then a line with its levels, number of bosses and why it's shown. The dungeon list is plain entries like every other page. (Dungeon pictures behind the text were tried and removed: the text was hard to read over them.)
- Up to 400 tiles show per page; search, fold groups or switch to the table layout for the rest.
- Group > Diary: a diary of every group you've been in, newest first. Each entry has the date, the time span, where you were and the party or raid size, then a written account built from what the Almanac saw: who was with you and for how long, the bosses that fell (and any wipes), kills or fights, deaths and what killed you, quests turned in, what the group looted and what it was worth, the best find and who got it, who picked up the most, and your share. Add your own note to any entry (Add note); notes are saved with the group. The loot table moves to Group > Loot.
- Gathering > Map: every spot you've gathered from, plotted on the zone's own map (the game's map art, or the classic world map tiles if the client gives no art for that map; for your current zone the map you're on is used), with an icon for each kind (herbs, ore, fish, skins, chests). Each spot is a round icon in a dark disc, at least 18 pixels and growing with how often you've been there, with the count; icons are drawn with smooth scaling so they stay clean at any size. Hovering a spot shows the kind, the map coordinates, how many times you gathered there, when you were last there, and what you got (each item and how often). The buttons above the map hide or show each kind. The map zooms up to 8x: use the mouse wheel (it zooms toward the cursor) or the + and - buttons in its corner, drag to move around, and right-click (or the o button) for the whole map again. Icons stay the same size as you zoom, so spots close together spread apart. Zoom is kept while you hide or show kinds and resets when you change zone. < and > page through your zones, busiest first; Where I am jumps to your zone. The legend gives the number of spots and gathers and the busiest spot. Spots now also remember their map, so new zones place exactly.
- Settings > Place popups: "Show to move" brings up the flight timer (with sample text) and the fight report (your last fight) together, above the main window, so you can drag both where you want them without flying or fighting. Click Done when they're placed; the spots are saved. Reset positions puts both back in their default spots.
/da popupsand/da popups resetdo the same. - Class tabs for warlocks, rogues and shamans: the Class page gets one more tab, shown only to that class (the page now has room for six tabs).
- Warlock > Summons: every Ritual of Summoning, with who you summoned, when, where (zone and subzone), the map spot, your level and whether they arrived. A summon counts as arrived when they turn up within about 28 yards of you within 5 minutes. It shows "Already nearby" if they were next to you when you started, or "Didn't arrive". The summary has the totals, how many people you've summoned, your most-summoned people and your favourite summoning spot. Summons from before this are still counted on Highlights and By type.
- Rogue > Poisons: each poison you've used, with how many times you applied it to each hand, today's count, charges used and how often it ran out. The hand is worked out from which weapon's enchant timer jumped. The summary has poison uptime on each hand, overall and in combat, how often a poison ran out (and how many of those were in combat), and what's on each weapon now. Swapping weapons doesn't count as running out.
- Shaman > Ghost Wolf: distance, time and runs in Ghost Wolf (a run is one shift into it), with the average run and the share of your on-foot distance you covered as a wolf. Broken down for this session, today and all time, then by zone and by day. The summary has your longest single run.
- Dungeon Loot (new page, under Adventure): loot tables for all 34 dungeons, including the new ones (Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site: Wetlands, City of Dalaran and more). The tables come from wowtbc.gg's Warcraft Forever data, including the items its pages hide as "Not yet discovered". That covers about 1,600 items, each with its item ID, slot and quality, and most with a drop chance. The site gives no quality for about half the items (the ones it hasn't confirmed in-game), so those come from Wowhead: its WoW Forever database, or Classic for items Forever doesn't list yet. Wowhead agreed with every quality the site did give except three Baron Aquanis quest rewards, which are rare on Wowhead and show as rare here.
- One page per dungeon: a section for each boss, then the trash (items that drop anywhere inside), then each quest's rewards (quests for the other faction are hidden). Each item shows its real link and tooltip, its slot and the site's drop chance. Yours shows how often it dropped for you out of your kills of that boss, and Looted shows how many you've picked up. The quality filter works here.
- Which dungeon: the one you picked, or else the dungeon you're in (every wing, e.g. all of Scarlet Monastery), or else the best fit for your level. The top row says which and why.
- Back to dungeon list: the top row goes to every dungeon, sorted by level, with its levels, bosses and how much of its loot you've found. Dungeons for your level are highlighted. Click one to open its page, or Automatic to go back to following where you are.
- Search looks through every dungeon at once: item, slot, boss, quest or dungeon name.
- Some new dungeons have no loot listed on the site yet: The Drowned City (bosses only), Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace.
/da dungeonloot(or/da atlas) opens it. The tables live in DreadAlmanac_DungeonLoot.lua.
- Sigil spin speed: Settings > Sigil spin picks how fast the sigil behind the page turns: Still, Glacial (15 min a turn), Slow (5 min, as before), Steady (2 min), Brisk (45 s), Constant (25 s, a steady turn you can always see without it racing), Frantic (12 s), Whirl (6 s) or Vortex (3 s), slowest to fastest. Sigil direction turns it clockwise or counter-clockwise. A new speed or direction takes effect at once without the sigil jumping, and it picks up where it left off when you reopen the window.
/da tome spin <speed>sets the speed,/da tome spinsteps to the next one, and/da tome spin reverseflips the direction.
Changed
- Maps show where you've explored: the Journal, Gathering and other Almanac maps now paint in the areas you have explored, the same way the world map does, instead of only the bare base map (which left everything looking unexplored). Areas you haven't been to yet still look blank, because the game only tells addons about explored areas.
- Bigger window in the Almanac layout: the window opens out to 1060 × 720 (from 820 × 600) when the Almanac layout is on, so each book page has much more room at the same text size. Nothing is scaled, so text stays sharp. It never gets bigger than your screen, it stays centred where you had it, and pages that draw themselves (Settings, Notes, Talents, the Gathering map) sit in the middle. The Table layout keeps the normal size.
- Gathering > Spots groups by zone: each zone has one group holding every kind of gathering done there (herbs, ore, skinning, fishing), instead of a separate group per kind. A new Type column shows which kind each spot is (click it to sort by kind), and the group header lists the times for each kind, e.g. "Elwynn Forest · Herbalism 40, Mining 12".
- Gear page reworked: History has one row per item per slot instead of one row per time you put it on, so swapping to a fishing pole and back, or relogging, no longer adds rows. New columns: Status (Wearing or Replaced), Times (how often you put it on) and Worn (total time across every wear, offline time included). Equipped reads what you're wearing right now from the game, so it's never empty while you have gear on, and its date column is now Since. Gear that was on before tracking began shows "Before tracking" instead of an empty row. The summary counts distinct items and gives the date tracking began.
- Fight report can be dragged any time: like the flight timer, grab the card with the left mouse button whenever it's on screen and drop it where you want it. The spot is saved and used for every fight after that. The card stays up while the mouse is over it and starts its normal show time again once you move away.
/da fight movestill shows the card and keeps it up so you can place it without a fight, and/da fight resetputs it back at the default spot. - Flight timer and fight report in the tome look: both popups now match the main window: grimy leather, a dark vignette, a faint fel sigil against the right edge (always inside the frame), thin bronze edges with small glowing corner gems, Morpheus lettering for the title and parchment-coloured text. The flight timer's progress bar is fel green with a glowing tip. With the plain look (
/almanac tomeoff) or without the Media folder they keep their old style. - Level-up card in the tome look: the card now sits on the window's leather with a heavy bronze frame and glowing fel gems in the corners. A large sigil spins in the middle of the card at Vortex speed (a turn every 3 seconds), as big as the card allows while staying inside it. The level number, the kicker line and the Gains / Ready to train / Coming up headings are in Morpheus lettering, the text is parchment-coloured, and the divider is bronze with a fel gem and a soft glow that fades out evenly toward both ends. With the plain look it keeps the old see-through style.
/da leveluppreviews it.
Fixed
- Interrupts in the fight report and Tactics: a cast of an interrupt only counts as a try when your target was casting, so Earth Shock used for damage no longer shows as "0/3 landed". The fight report reads e.g. "Earth Shock 1/1 interrupt (x3)", or just "Earth Shock x3" when nothing was casting; Tactics > Toolkit says how many of your tries on a casting target stopped the cast. An interrupt that stops a cast is counted however the game orders its events.
- Settings: the Commands list overlapped the Clear buttons: it now sits below the last row of buttons, and the page scrolls far enough to show all of it.
- Kills stopped counting at the level cap: kills were only counted from the "X dies, you gain N experience" message, so once you reached the cap (or killed grey mobs) nothing was logged: no kills, no new Bestiary entries, fights showing 0 kills, and your kills listed as Nearby deaths. A mob is now also counted as your kill when it dies after fighting you, your pet or your group and wasn't tagged by anyone else. Kills seen during your fights since you stopped getting XP are moved from Nearby deaths to your kills once, with the Bestiary, drop rates and fight reports updated.
- Auctions: some auctions you posted weren't listed, and one auction mail could count several times.
- Mail in pieces: a mail that came back with several stacks, or with money and items taken at different moments, was counted once per piece. For example, six "Savory Whimsyfin Delight (317) expired" rows appeared in two seconds. Each auction mail now counts once, however many pieces you take. The repeats already in your ledger are removed once (same item, count and result within 10 seconds).
- Your auctions list: the Almanac now also reads it whenever the auction house sends it (the Auctions tab). Any auction it didn't see you post is added to On the auction house, with a chat line saying how many. Any auction it thought was still up that the list no longer shows is marked Check mail, because it sold or expired. Auctions are matched by the auction house's own ID once seen, and otherwise by item and count. For stackable goods the list gives a per-item price, so that price is multiplied by the count: an added stack shows the price of the whole stack, like auctions you were seen posting. Stacks added before this fix are corrected the next time the list is read.
- Gathering map error: "Cannot set tex coords when texture has mask". The round spot icons were cropped after their round mask was applied, which this client doesn't allow. The error stopped the map at its first spot. The crop is now set before the mask.
- Almanac book: on an entry's own page, long values ran over their labels. For example, the killer, the place or a time with a date. Each figure row stays on one line (label, dotted line, value) when it fits. When it doesn't, the label gets its own line and the value wraps on the line below, slightly indented. The same applies to the zone-time lines in the Journal.
- Journal note cards: text ran past the card's edge. For example, a long item name and where it came from. Each card now grows to fit its text, up to four lines (anything longer ends in "..."), and the cards below move down to make room.
- Almanac book: entry text looked blurry. The entries used the game's standard text style, which puts a black drop shadow behind every letter; on parchment that smudged the dark ink. All text in the book is now shadowless ink. It's also a size larger: entry names 13, their figures 11, paragraphs 13 and zone and figure lines 12. Text buttons are sized to whole pixels so their labels don't sit between pixels.
- Warlock > Summons and Shaman > Ghost Wolf tabs errored when opened: they used two page helpers (for text columns and miles) that weren't reachable from that part of the file. They now have their own.
- Almanac view: long chapter headings ran into their details. For example, on Group > Loot a dungeon group's name and party ran over the date, item count and gold. A heading that doesn't fit on one line now puts its details on a second line under the title. Hovering a heading shows the full title and details.
- Almanac view: quest hover showed nothing. Hovering a quest now shows the game's own quest tooltip (objectives), followed by the Almanac's details: when and from whom you accepted it, where, the turn-in, and the rewards. If the client can't show the quest's own tooltip, the Almanac's details show on their own. A quest's page also has an About this quest section with the same details, and hovering its icon there shows the quest tooltip.
- Gathering > Map showed only the fog and leather background, not the zone. When the game's map art lookup gives nothing, the map now uses the classic world map's own tiles for the zone.
/da mapcheckprints what the client returns for your current zone (map IDs, art layers, textures, the world map folder and saved spots), to paste back if a zone still shows no map. - Quests removed without turning in or abandoning stayed "In progress" forever: for example, a quest that disappears when you delete its quest item. The addon now listens for the game's quest-removed event, and after each quest log update it checks every quest it thinks is in progress against your real log. A quest that left the log any other way is marked Removed (orange) on the Quests page. Its tooltip says when, and why if known: "deleted <item>" when you'd just deleted an item, or "found missing from your log" for quests that were already gone. An empty quest log read in the first 30 seconds after login is ignored, so quests aren't cleared while the log is still loading. Diane had 26 quests marked in progress against a 20-quest log, so the stale ones clear at the next login.
- Error on table pages ("attempt to compare nil with number"): a row with no value in the sorted column broke the sort, and with it the whole page. Seen on Collection, where a group-loot record (a Short Ash Bow looted by Apex Actual) had ended up in the collection under a timestamp instead of an item ID. Rows missing a value now sort to the end on every table page, and values of different kinds are compared as text. At login, collection entries that aren't keyed by an item ID or have no first-found time are removed, along with the same stray record found inside a cooking craft entry. Each removal is noted under Settings > Caught errors.
- Auctions: part-sold stacks and auctions stuck "On sale". When only part of a stack sold (say 29 of 67 trout), the whole auction was marked sold, and the rest coming back by mail showed up as a separate untracked auction. Now a mail settles only the number it names (or, for a sale with no count, the number the price paid for), from the oldest matching auction first, and the rest stays on sale. An auction whose mail never matched stayed "On sale" forever. Once its run time plus an hour has passed, it now moves to a new Ended, mail not taken yet group with the status Check mail, and still gets its real result when you take the mail. Existing ledgers are repaired once: part-sold auctions are split into the sold part and the rest, and the untracked expired rows are matched back to them.
- Gear: Equipped empty and History full of blank rows. At login the game briefly reports every slot as empty. The addon took that as everything coming off, closed every record, and logged the whole outfit again with no date, level or source once it reappeared (Diane had 716 records for about 50 items, 290 of them blank). An all-empty read is now treated as "not loaded yet" and checked again every 2 seconds. Existing history is repaired once on login: back-to-back records of the same item in a slot are merged into one, rows that came in empty get the date and level from the record before them, and missing sources are filled in where the item can be matched.
- Class > Talents planner layout on every class: on classes other than warrior the specs could overlap or stack on top of each other, because the layout was worked out from the game's node positions, which aren't shaped the same for every class. Each class's layout (spec, row, column and prerequisite for every talent) now comes from a built-in table, DreadAlmanac_Talents.lua, matching Wowhead's Forever talent calculator and keyed by the game's own talent node IDs. Each spec is 4 columns by 7 rows, and the game's extra nodes that aren't talents are left out. A class without a table still falls back to working the layout out from the game's positions.
2.4.2 (October 10, 2026)
New
- Class > Abilities: every class ability in one list.
- Ready to train, with the total cost.
- Coming up, grouped by level, with each level's cost.
- Learned, from your spellbook, with rank, the level it's learned at and its cost.
- The summary shows the cost to train everything still to come, and when the trainer list was last read.
- Until you've visited your class trainer once, the tab asks you to, so every rank of your upcoming abilities can be listed. The reminder goes away after the visit.
- Hunter kills with and without a pet: every kill a hunter makes counts as with a pet out (credited to that pet) or with no pet.
- Hunter Pets > My pets has a Kills group: both totals with their share, today's counts, and the pet with the most kills alongside you.
- Each pet's report card shows its kills while out.
- Who landed the killing blow can't be told on this client (it needs the combat log).
- New WoW Forever beasts in the pet catalog: 67 beasts that weren't in the catalog data.
- All of Zephras Isle (the new starting zone) and Riverglades, plus new rares in older zones such as Jorul, Ghostfang, Mokwa, Kackle and Koartul.
- The Fox family now has beasts: Juvenile Vuldren, Vuldren, Vuldren Alpha and the rare Slydris. Vulgara the Insatiable is listed under Wolves, because that's how she tames for now.
- These show as New in Forever; search "new" to list them. No site publishes their game IDs yet, so each one links itself the first time you target or mouse over it, and its 3D model works after that.
- Beasts the catalog doesn't know: a beast that belongs to a pet family but isn't in the catalog is added as Found by you, with a chat line. If its family is new, the Catalog gets a group for it.
- Class > Talents: talent planner. Your class's talent tree, drawn from the game's own data, with Arms / Fury / Protection (or your class's specs) side by side and arrows between talents.
- Opens showing your talents now. Left-click adds a point, right-click removes one, shift-click does every rank.
- Follows the game's rules: 5 points in a spec per row, an arrow needs the talent before it maxed, at most 51 points. A point can't be removed if that would break another talent.
- The summary shows points per spec, the total, and the level the plan needs. It counts from your first talent point, so a Legacy "Talented" rank that starts points before level 10 is included.
- Save plans by name (per character), load and delete them, and see how many talents differ from yours. "Your talents" goes back to what you have now. Ranks that differ from yours show in blue.
- Hovering a talent shows its description for this rank and the next, and what it still needs.
/da talentcheckalso prints a one-line summary of how your class's tree is laid out, to paste back if the planner looks wrong./da talentexportopens every node of your tree (position, ranks, arrows, name) as text to copy, for looking into a layout problem on another class.- Planning only: it never changes your real talents.
- The Class page now has room for five tabs.
- Leveling > Talents shows your talent tree: this client uses the newer talent system (one tree with all three specs side by side), and the addon now reads it.
- Your tree now: one group per spec (e.g. Arms / Fury / Protection) with each talent you have points in, its rank, its row, and the level you put the last point in.
- Talent order: every point as you put it in, with your level and when. Points applied together in one go are marked as a batch.
- The talent reset log moved into the same tab. The "spec before the reset" and the current spec now work on this client.
- Level-ups gallery: each level lists the talent you put that level's point into, and replaying the card shows it too.
/da talentcheckprints what the addon can read of your tree and saves the details in DreadAlmanacDB.talentDiag.
- Collapsible table groups: click a group header to fold or unfold it (a folded header shows how many rows it holds). Shift-click does every group on the page. Folded groups are remembered per page.
Changed
- Level-up card:
- Stat gains (Strength, Agility, Stamina, Intellect, Spirit) come from the game's own level-up numbers, and the "before" figure is worked out from the gain (e.g. Health 1,474 → 1,484 (+10)). Before, an empty stats snapshot meant no stat gains showed.
- The card is wider. A list whose lines would wrap steps its font down a size (to 10 at the smallest) so each line stays whole.
- Coming up has its own heading, with each level left-aligned.
- Still untrained from earlier: a spell counts as trained as soon as you buy it from the trainer, or when the game says you learned it. A spell also counts if your spellbook has that rank, or a rank of the same spell learned at that level or later. Spells the trainer stops listing once learned (e.g. Shield Wall) no longer show as untrained, and a new rank of a spell you already have isn't mistaken for one you've learned.
- Tactics > Toolkit, spells you interrupted: the spell name is read from the interrupt event, your target's cast info as you press the interrupt, or the target's cast bar. If the game hides it everywhere, the row reads "<enemy>'s cast" instead of "Unknown spell".
- Hunter pets model viewer:
- It closes when you close the Almanac window (the
/da petcard isn't tied to the window). - After pinning a beast, hovering other rows previews them and moving off goes back to the pinned one.
- Beasts without a game ID can be pinned too.
- It closes when you close the Almanac window (the
- Hunter Pets for other classes: My pets and History show only on hunters. Other classes keep Catalog and Looks.
- Search clears when you change page or tab.
- Gathering > Spots lists everything a spot gave: besides the item a spot gave most, an Also column lists every other catch or find with its count, and Got shows how often it gave the item shown. Search now finds items too (e.g. "catfish" lists every spot that gave catfish, with catfish shown). Hovering a spot shows its full list with percentages. Before, only the top item showed, so e.g. catfish at a trout-heavy Dustwallow Marsh spot seemed missing.
- Birds of Prey are matched whether the game calls the family Owl or Bird of Prey.
- Removed the data-source credit from the pet catalog.
Fixed
- Other players' pets set off the rare beast alert. A tamed pet carries the ID of the beast it was tamed from, so someone's tamed rare looked like the rare itself. The beast tracker (alerts, seen counts, "Found by you", linking new beasts) now only looks at wild creatures, never at pets or anything a player controls.
- Trainer list kept only one rank per spell. This client's trainer list gives no ranks, so each rank was written over the last and only the highest survived (e.g. Charge only at level 46). Each rank is now kept by its level. Visit your class trainer once to fill in the missing ranks.
Removed
- Tactics > Resources. The beta client gave it nothing: no power gained or spent was ever recorded. It's on the list to bring back at launch. Finisher, totem and reagent counts are still collected in the background.
- Diagnostics for power and enemy casts are saved in DreadAlmanacDB.tacticsDiag.
2.4.0 (October 10, 2026)
New pages, cards and trackers for class play, levelling and hunter pets. Some data this beta client won't give addons, so a few stats were removed (see Removed).

New: Level-up card
- Card: a see-through card in the centre of the screen when you level, clear of the game's own banner. It stays about 14 seconds and doesn't block clicks.
- Gains shown as before → after, e.g. "Stamina 55 → 57 (+2)": health, mana, each stat, talent points and the weapon/defense skill cap.
- The class skills you can train now, with ranks, icons and costs, plus a reminder of skills you still haven't trained.
- Coming up: the next two levels with new skills.
- How long the level took, and XP to the next level.
- Where skills come from: recorded from your class trainer's list whenever you open it (including spells you're too low for), and from future spells in your spellbook.
- Milestones: at levels 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 the card adds "Since level X": played time, kills, quests, deaths, zones, discoveries, gold, your best find and the zone you spent most time in.
- Commands:
/da levelup(preview),/da levelup move,/da levelup reset,/da levelup on|off. There is also a toggle in Settings.
New: Leveling > Level-ups
- Every level you've reached, with the date and time played. Click one to see its card again.
- Stat gains and new skills are kept from 2.4.0 on.
New: Leveling > Talents
- Every talent reset: when and where, your level, what it cost, your spec just before the wipe, and the trainer.
- Totals at the top: number of resets, gold paid, your current spec, and the last price a trainer quoted.
- Resets already in your gold log were added automatically.
/da talentsopens it.
New: Hunter Pets page (Character > Hunter Pets)
- Catalog: 597 tameable beasts across 19 families, grouped by family with role and diet. Each beast shows level, zone, look, rare or elite, abilities it knows when tamed, and attack speed. Beasts you've seen or tamed are marked.
- Models: hover a beast to see its 3D model next to the window; click to pin it.
- Looks: 117 looks and your collection progress.
- Click a look to add it to your hunting list.
- You get a chat nudge when you enter a zone that has a look on your list.
- My pets: every pet from the moment you tame it. Hover a pet for its report card: where and when it was tamed, what it was tamed from, levels gained with you, time out and fights, trips to the stable, deaths, favourite food, mood and loyalty.
/da petshows the card for the pet that's out.- Stable planner: which roles (Offense, Defense, General) your pets cover, with a beast near your level suggested for each missing role.
- History: a log of tames (including interrupted ones), renames, level-ups, feeding, mood drops, dismissals, stable trips, deaths, revives and abandoning.
- Beast alerts (hunters):
- When a rare beast is nearby, a card pops up with its model and a sound plays.
- The same happens for a beast wearing a look on your hunting list that you haven't collected.
- Toggle in Settings.
- Feeding log: records what each pet eats. If your pet becomes unhappy, you get a warning that names its diet.
Changes
- Buffs: buffs are no longer read inside dungeons and raids. This beta client hides them there and the attempt was causing a taint error (1,100+ logged).
- Settings: new rows for Level-up overlay, Fight report and Beast alerts, plus new Clear buttons for Tactics, Hunter pets, Fight reports and Talent resets.
- Commands: new
/dawords:tactics,stances,reactions,toolkit,resources,pets,looks,stable,talents,levelup,fight,pet. - Table rows can now react to hover and click, which the pet models and the level-up gallery use.
Removed (this beta client doesn't send the combat log to addons)
- Combat stats: overhealing, overkill blows, and the Biggest heal and Biggest overkill records. Overkill damage stays (from the damage meter).
- Combat log code: removed, since it never received anything on this client. The code and a list of ideas to revisit are saved in the project notes ("revisit at launch") for when the official game comes out.
Known limits on this beta client
- Hits and crits come from solo fights only.
- Pet models appear only for creatures the game has already seen.
- The Fox and Core Hound families have no confirmed tameable looks yet.
