Drag Meter Frame lets you reposition common damage and healing meter windows by dragging them—without breaking Blizzard’s built-in UI controls or fighting Edit Mode.
Supported meters
- Blizzard built-in Damage Meter — drag individual session windows by the left part of the title bar. The right side of the header stays clickable for gear, menus, and other Blizzard controls.
- Details! — drag each instance window.
- Recount — drag the main window.
- Skada — drag bar windows.
The addon hooks meters as they appear at login and rescans automatically when relevant addons load.
Blizzard Damage Meter extras
When the built-in Damage Meter is available, optional UX is enabled:
- “+” button — quickly open another session window (up to Blizzard’s limit of 3). Tooltip explains usage.
- Edge snap — session windows snap to each other when dragged close (within ~12 px). Secondary windows do not auto-snap to the primary when you drag them alone—you can always move them away freely.
- Group drag — when you drag the primary window, any snapped secondary windows move with it. Dragging a secondary alone does not move the primary.
Edit Mode & safety
While HUD Edit Mode is open, drag overlays are hidden and dragging is disabled so you can use Blizzard’s own layout handles. The addon avoids taint-prone patterns on Blizzard session frames (e.g. no OnUpdate on meter windows for group sync).
Commands
/dragmeteror/movedmeter— rescan all meters and re-attach hooks if something broke after a UI reload or meter rebuild.
Notes
- No saved variables — positions are not stored by this addon; layout follows Blizzard and third-party meter addons.
- Lightweight — two Lua files, no configuration panel required.
