Domis ZoneLock is a zone-based leveling challenge addon for **World of Warcraft Classic Era / Hardcore**. Complete the quests and optional rares currently relevant to your level before leaving your locked zone.

## Installation

1. Extract the installation ZIP.
2. Copy its `ZoneLock` folder into your game's `Interface/AddOns` directory.
3. Enable Domis ZoneLock at character selection. Install and enable **Questie**, which is strongly recommended for quest, zone and rare data.
4. Log in and open `/zl config`.

The folder remains named `ZoneLock` for compatibility. When updating, replace the addon files and keep your saved variables to retain settings and run progress.

## Starting your challenge

On a fresh character, setup opens automatically after the introductory cinematic or movie ends. The tracker starts hidden, and challenge rules remain inactive until you explicitly start the challenge.

Choose a preset and options, then press **Start challenge**. The configuration closes and the tracker appears. Your first challenge start on that character also produces a screen notification, sound and chat confirmation. Escape closes configuration normally; unfinished first-run setup returns on a later login.

## Rules and progression

- Quest requirements depend on your level and Questie's availability information. More quests can become relevant as you level up.
- Holiday/event quests, repeatable quests and recognized breadcrumb quests do not count toward mandatory progression.
- Group quests, dungeon quests and rare tracking are optional.
- Capitals and dungeons/raids are safe areas and do not replace your locked outdoor zone.
- The tracker separates active required quests from informational character-relevant zone totals.
- Zone details explain which quests are required, completed, available later, unavailable or excluded.
- Missing quest data is not silently treated as a completed zone.

## Presets

| Preset | Group quests | Dungeon quests | Rares |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Standard | Off | Off | Off |
| Hardcore+ | On | On | Off |
| Completionist | On | On | On |

All presets include eligible normal quests. Manually changing a category creates a custom profile.

## Travel Mode and rare credit

Travel Mode lets you pass through other zones while retaining your locked zone. When its quest guard is enabled, normal quest-giver acceptance is blocked. Travel Mode ends automatically after you leave and return to your locked zone.

Automatically accepted or shared quests cannot always be blocked before acceptance. The addon detects acceptance during Travel Mode and records it in run integrity. Travel Mode itself and successfully blocked quest attempts do not mark the run as modified.

Automatic rare credit uses player/party kill events, rather than unrelated nearby deaths. Manual rare acknowledgement is available and recorded as an override.

## Tracker and controls

Open **Configuration → Tracker appearance** to lock position and size, set scale from **70–140%**, or adjust background opacity from **20–100%**. Lower opacity makes the background more transparent while keeping the text readable. Settings are saved per character and do not affect run integrity.

The tracker shows quest progress, zone status and run integrity. Click it for details. The minimap button opens details with a left click and quick options with a right click. Option tooltips explain each setting and its effect on the run.

## Run integrity

Rule changes during an active challenge require confirmation, even outside Strict Mode. Cancel keeps the current setting. Confirming a change records it and marks the run as modified. Violations and manual overrides also affect integrity; appearance changes do not.
