## 6.1 — Forever Beta Fixes
Bug-fix release. Everything below was found by testing against the live Forever beta client, which restricts addons far more than the initial port assumed.
### Fixed
- **Chat triggers no longer spam Lua errors.** Forever delivers chat message text as a "secret value": reading it from addon code throws `attempt to index a secret string value`, once per message received. The addon now checks access before touching the text, and falls back to `C_ChatInfo.GetChatLineText()` — Blizzard's sanctioned way to read a chat line — when the payload itself is locked.
- **Minimap button drag is usable again.** The button flew across the minimap at the slightest mouse movement. Forever's Lua has no `math.atan2`, and WoW's global `atan2` returns *degrees* where the old one returned *radians* — the angle was being converted twice and multiplied by roughly 57. A cursor at 30° put the button at 279°.
- **Low-health alert actually fires.** Player health is secret for the entire duration of combat on Forever, so the 20% sound could never trigger — precisely when it was supposed to. The addon now watches Blizzard's own low-health indicator, which is driven by untainted code that *is* allowed to read health. See "Known limitations" below.
- **Minimap left-click opens the options again.** `Settings.OpenToCategory` does not work for addons on this client. Worse, it returns nothing and raises no error when it fails, so the failure was completely silent. The addon now verifies that the panel actually opened, tries the underlying `C_SettingsUtil.OpenSettingsPanel`, and finally falls back to its own window.
- **Windows no longer overlap.** The options, sound list and statistics windows all opened dead-centre in the same display layer and bled through each other. Each now has its own side and layer, and the addon stops repositioning a window once you have moved it yourself.
### Added
- `/ddpdiag` — reports what the client currently allows the addon to read: chat text, player health, low-health indicator, combat state. Useful for reporting problems as the beta changes.
### Known limitations (client-side)
- **The low-health threshold is now Blizzard's, not exactly 20%.** No addon can compare health to a number in combat on Forever. Out of combat, 20% is still exact. If you have disabled screen effects in your graphics settings, the alert will not fire during combat at all.
- **The options panel does not appear in the game's Settings window**, because the Settings API is not functional for addons on this client. The addon opens its own window instead, with the same contents.
- Saved variables may still fail to load at startup — a confirmed Forever beta bug, not something an addon can fix.
