DoesItDie - MoP Warlock
Will your DoTs finish it off?
DoesItDie tracks your damage-over-time spells and marks the damage they still have to deal on your target's health bar. When that's enough to kill the target, a kill icon appears on its portrait. You can stop casting, let your DoTs finish the job, and move on to the next mob.
Built for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic, for Warlocks only. On other classes it stays idle and uses no resources.
How it works
- Health bar marker: a striped section on the target's health bar shows how much health your DoTs will still take off, split per DoT and colored by spell.
- Kill icon: if the target's health ends inside the marker, your DoTs will kill it, and a kill icon lights up on the portrait.
- Learns your real numbers: it watches each tick as it lands and learns its true size. Your spell power, crits and the target's damage reductions are all built into the estimate. It gets more accurate the more you play.
Built for Mists of Pandaria
- Haste: haste shortens your tick timers and adds extra ticks, as it does in MoP.
- Agony: builds up to 10 stacks tick by tick, and keeps its stacks when you refresh it.
- Refreshing a DoT keeps its running tick timer.
- Soul Swap: Inhale/Exhale and Soulburn: Soul Swap move your tracked DoTs to the new target.
- Channels are ignored: Malefic Grasp, Drain Soul, Drain Life, Harvest Life, Hellfire, Rain of Fire and Immolation Aura don't count as DoTs.
Tracked spells
- Corruption
- Agony
- Unstable Affliction
- Immolate
- Doom
- Seed of Corruption
- Hand of Gul'dan (Shadowflame)
Multi-dotting
- Focus frame: the marker and kill icon also show on your focus.
/cast [@focus]macros are tracked on the focus. - Nameplates: turn on enemy nameplates to see the marker on every mob you've dotted, so you can tell at a glance which ones are already dead.
- Mouseover and soft-target casts go on the right mob.
Make it yours
Open the options with /did. The live preview shows every change as you make it:
- Kill icon style, size, position and pulse
- Marker fill texture, color, opacity, and per-DoT colors
- Outline style, dashes, thickness and color
- Animations: smooth motion, flash on apply, glow, shine, scrolling stripes
- Optional damage text on the bar
- A separate look for the focus frame and for nameplates
- Accuracy options, such as waiting for a DoT's first tick before counting it
Other unit frame and nameplate add-ons: works with Blizzard's frames out of the box and finds most nameplate add-ons' health bars automatically. For custom unit frames, enter the frame's path under Advanced.

Good to know
- The first time you cast a DoT, the estimate comes from the spell's tooltip and errs on the low side. After a tick or two it uses the real tick size.
- If Seed of Corruption detonates early, its remaining damage may be overestimated until it expires.
- Only one copy of DoesItDie should be enabled at a time.
Reporting bugs
If a DoT isn't tracked or the estimate looks wrong, please include:
- Your game language
- Which spell and what happened
- The log, if you can: type
/did debug, reproduce the problem, then/reload. The log is saved inWTF\Account\<account>\SavedVariables\DoesItDie_MoP.lua.
