Der Schattenbund – Guild Companion

A German-language guild companion addon for Der Schattenbund, bringing member discovery, optional location sharing, gathering maps, notifications, and dedicated whisper windows into World of Warcraft.

Guild-specific: Community features currently require membership in Der Schattenbund and one of its six supported ranks, from Schattenanwärter upward. This is not currently a general-purpose companion for every guild.

Member Discovery and Communication

• Browse recently detected guild members who use the addon.

• View character names, classes, levels, and optional language preferences.

• Filter members by German, English, or unspecified language.

• Open member details, send whispers, and invite members to a group.

• Display guild icons in chat and on supported player, target, and party portraits.

• Use dedicated whisper windows with player-blocking controls.

Member detection indicates addon participation; it does not independently verify identity or guarantee that a player is still online.

Optional Location Sharing

See detected members on the world map when they have enabled location sharing. Larger, gold-bordered addon markers make members easier to distinguish from gathering points.

Sharing your own position is a separate option from viewing other members. It is disabled on fresh installations and can be changed in the settings.

Gathering and Treasure Maps

Save historical locations for herbs, ores, and treasures, with category filters and markers on the world map and minimap.

• Use item-specific icons when an item ID and suitable client support are available.

• Record qualifying herb and mining-object loot automatically.

• Add treasures and unrecognized locations manually.

• Optionally share new local discoveries with eligible guild members.

• Choose separately whether to receive guild discovery reports.

Important: Locations are approximate player positions recorded when a discovery is reported. They do not indicate current availability, exact object positions, or confirmed respawn times. Automatic detection and minimap projection depend on the client APIs.

Data Export

Copy discovery records as versioned JSON, including map IDs, normalized coordinates, categories, item IDs, timestamps, and source indicators.

Exports default to locally observed discoveries, with an option to include received guild reports. Automatically collected player and sender names are excluded. Large exports are divided into numbered sections.

The export provides a foundation for a future interactive map. It does not include map images, a hosted website, or automatic uploads.

Guided Setup

A first-run assistant explains each optional feature individually. Decisions are saved immediately, and setup can be paused and resumed.

Settings remain accessible through the WoW AddOns settings panel or /schattenbund.

Basic addon discovery and your own level/death events are exchanged through guild/group addon messages independently of the display toggles. Position sharing and discovery sharing have separate controls. Recipients may retain or export shared discovery records.

The addon interface is currently in German.

Installation

Extract the installation ZIP into your World of Warcraft Interface/AddOns directory so that the addon files are inside the LZDE folder.

When updating, replace the addon folder and retain your existing SavedVariables to preserve settings and discoveries. Install only the package matching your client.

Development Status

Version 0.3.16 is a test build. Automated checks have passed, but full in-game validation of this version remains pending, particularly automatic gathering detection and minimap rendering.

Please report problems with your addon version, client build, reproduction steps, and relevant screenshots or diagnostic information. Review diagnostic reports before sharing, as they may contain character names.
