v0.8.3-forever
What's new
DaylightUI 0.8.3
The biggest performance update yet: rebuilt nameplates with the same look, and the whole UI does far less work, so crowds, raids and battlegrounds play much smoother.
New
- Quality of Life: Quest item sparkles: lootable quest objects keep their sparkle, even after a graphics preset (off by default; /dui > Quality of Life > Items)
- Unit frames: Party and raid aura timers can show only under a minute, so long buffs stay quiet (each aura card: Only under a minute)
- Action bars: Bag bar size and Micro menu size sliders (/dui > Action Bars > Bag bar and micro menu)
Changed
- Nameplates: Rebuilt for speed with the same look: far cheaper to draw, and smooth when switching targets in a crowd. Your target's plate grows in one step, and its outline draws on with a soft gleam
- Unit frames: Smoother raids: raid frames do far less work on threat, roster and health changes
- Action bars: Less work on every cast, target switch and camera turn, Cooldown Manager included
- Info panel: The meter, map and clock only redraw what changed, and pulls no longer rebuild the panel
- Buffs: The buff bar does far less work in the background
- Bags: Fewer hitches with the bags open while casting or questing
- Tooltip: Smoother hovering over units and items
- Quests: The tracker does less work as quests update
- General: Chat, the character window, skinned windows and fading areas all do less work
Fixed
- Battlegrounds: Enemy players show their class colours again on unit frames, cast bars and the tooltip
- Info panel: Rotate minimap stays on after a reload or logout
- General: Moved bag bar, micro menu and game frames stay where you put them when you level up or change talents
- Character: An empty ammo slot shows as empty, not as a grey box with a 1
