What's new

QFX Skill Alerts 1.0.227 — Update Notes (2026-09-13)

New

  • Added an On Cooldown CD type next to Fixed CD / Ready: it announces when the game reports the real cooldown starting (after the cast GCD clears) and stays silent for GCD-only casts. Cast-driven only, so a config refresh while a cooldown is already running never announces. Fixed-CD number, early-warning conditions and the CD-change talent are disabled for it, same as Ready; the mode survives save/load/export/import.
  • Quick Skill Select replaces the old "Pick from Cooldown Manager" picker. It only fills the spell ID and name, is searchable, and sits behind a single-select Class / Spec filter that defaults to the current specialization. Specs with a complete cached list are marked with a green check.
  • Cross-spec skill lists: every spec's Cooldown Manager skill list is captured automatically when that spec is loaded (login, spec change, zone entry, CDM data load, combat end) or when an editor is opened, stored per class/spec in saved variables (cdmSkillCatalog), and listed as Class·Spec · Skill with no cross-spec dedup. Capture prefers the client's full category set (includes not-yet-learned abilities). A spec must be loaded once before its full list is available; this limitation is stated in the editor hint.
  • Saved entries now show their scope on every row (all classes / specific spec / N specs) and their CD type; hovering a row opens a tooltip with the full, untruncated text and complete class/spec details.
  • Cooldown Manager voice editor: the event dropdown marks events that already have a voice with a green check, and the hint explains that one ability can map several events (Ready / On Cooldown / Charge Gained …) to separate voices.

Improved

  • Editor spell section reorganized: Type dropdown + Class/Spec filter + Quick Skill Select on the first row (picker at half width), ID / name / CD type / fixed CD on the second, one talent group per row. Item entries keep the original layout.
  • The scope editor now uses always-visible multi-select dropdowns (races; linked class + spec) with inline labels, class-colored names, exclusive "All" entries and count summaries — the old "Select Scope" popup is gone.
  • New cooldown entries default to the Ready CD type, and new alerts default to the SharedMedia sound source.
  • The CD alert editor hint now describes the current feature set and states that Quick Skill Select data comes from the Cooldown Manager.
  • English labels trimmed so they no longer clip: "Talent changes CD" and "Load if learned", with wider checkbox labels.

Fixed

  • Cooldown alerts: the "CD Changes To" talent only affects the fixed timer — its controls are now disabled for Ready / On Cooldown, and the data is dropped on save and export/import for those modes. The independent "load if learned" filter still works for every CD type.
  • The Type (spell/item) dropdown no longer stays hidden after opening an event-voice entry in the same session.
  • Saved-list text is now language-aware: switching the addon language without reloading no longer mixes two languages in the same row (row and group text caches are keyed by locale).
  • The Quick Skill Select picker no longer lists the aura-tracking categories (Tracked Buffs / Tracked Bars); use the CDM voice editor for aura events.

Performance & internals

  • Talent-unloaded entries are now completely idle: the runtime builder checks the talent load filter before registering bag/equipment refresh needs or resolving item triggers, and the bag-state signature skips them. The shared OnUpdate loop only runs while a cooldown timer or a Ready/On Cooldown watch is armed.
  • Saved-list row cache is bounded (entries × viewer class/spec/race no longer grows unbounded), and the CDM picker catalog is cached per CDM data serial / spec / combat state.
  • Code cleanup: removed dead UI paths, legacy leftovers and 75 unused localization keys (no behavior change); 131 Lua files pass syntax checks and all 25 regression tests pass.
