Description

CurseRemover

⚠️ Early development / beta. CurseRemover is actively being built and tested. Expect occasional bugs, and please report anything odd — feedback is what's driving the next updates.

A lightweight Decursive-style dispel bar for modern WoW. One small square per group/raid member, sitting wherever you drag it. A square lights up and plays a sound only when that player has a debuff you can actually dispel — nothing lights up, nothing plays, if you can't do anything about it.

How it works

  • One draggable bar, one square per party/raid member (up to 40 in raid).
  • A square turns colored and pulses — plus a sound alert — the instant a dispellable debuff lands, color-coded by type: Magic (blue), Curse (purple), Disease (brown), Poison (green), Bleed (red).
  • Left-click a square to cast your dispel on that player. Right-click casts a second dispel spell if your class/spec has one that covers a type the first doesn't.
  • Detection is class/spec/talent-aware: the bar only reacts to what you can currently remove, the same way Decursive did.
  • A square that needs a dispel stays fully visible even if the player is out of range — you can spot it and move in, instead of it fading into transparency.
  • In raid, squares are automatically grouped by sub-group (1-8), arranged horizontally or vertically — your choice.

Self-cleanse support

Some classes have no group dispel at all but can clean debuffs off themselves specifically (Rogue's Cloak of Shadows, Death Knight's Anti-Magic Shell with the Unyielding Will talent). CurseRemover detects these too: Shift + click any square to cleanse yourself, regardless of which square you clicked (these spells only ever target you anyway).

Supported classes

Group dispel: Mage, Priest, Paladin, Druid, Shaman, Monk, Evoker, Warlock (Singe Magic via your Imp — needs the Imp summoned). Self-only dispel: Rogue, Death Knight. Classes with no dispel of any kind in the game (Warrior, Hunter, Demon Hunter, etc.) simply won't show the bar — that's expected, not a bug.

Customization

Everything is configurable from an in-game options panel — no other addon required:

  • Open it by typing /cr with no arguments, or by clicking the minimap icon.
  • Lock/unlock and drag the bar anywhere on screen.
  • Square size, columns per row, spacing, scale, growth direction.
  • Show/hide names, dim out-of-range members, toggle the alert sound.
  • A built-in sound picker with several Blizzard alert sounds, plus automatic pickup of any sounds registered by other addons through LibSharedMedia (so if you run DBM, BigWigs, or similar, their sound packs show up here too).
  • Raid layout: horizontal or vertical sub-groups.
  • Optional per-character settings, if you want a different setup on different toons.

Commands

/cr (or /curseremover) with no arguments opens the options panel. Everything is also available as slash commands for power users — type /cr help in-game for the full list (unlock/lock, size, cols, spacing, scale, sound, mode, raid layout, test, debug, reset, and more).

Requirements

Retail WoW (Midnight, patch 12.x). No dependencies — CurseRemover is fully self-contained.

Known limitations

  • Warlock detection requires the Imp to be summoned (that's the only pet that knows Singe Magic).
  • Demon Hunter's Consume Magic isn't included (it targets enemies, not allies).
  • The dwarf racial Stoneform isn't included (a racial, not a class dispel).
