Craft Simulator

CraftSimulator — Manufacturing Simulator

CraftSimulator is a lightweight, easy-to-use addon for World of Warcraft Retail that helps you simulate profession crafting: pick a recipe, choose material qualities (1★/2★/3★), add optional & finishing reagents, and instantly see which quality star you can craft — with real in-game math, not guesswork.

Features

  • Live simulation embedded in the Profession window

    • When you open your Profession window (K), a compact "CraftSim" panel appears on the right side.
    • It automatically follows the recipe you click in the left list and updates in real time.
    • Pick material quality and optional reagents, hit "Calculate Quality", and see the guaranteed star rating, inspiration result, and concentration result instantly.
  • Standalone full simulator (/cs)

    • A complete simulation window for cost / revenue / profit analysis, quality distribution, and Monte-Carlo results (Inspiration, Multicraft, Resourcefulness, Crafting Speed).
    • Auto-loads the currently open recipe, or lets you fill everything manually.
  • Accurate recipe & material data

    • Recipe list follows the currently displayed profession page, including expansion-specific skill lines (Midnight 12.x, The War Within, Dragonflight).
    • Only craftable, learned recipes are listed; non-craftable entries (e.g. "Concentration") are filtered out.
    • Material lists show the correct required reagents and per-quality item IDs (1★/2★/3★ are different items in WoW).
    • Optional and finishing reagents are fully supported — select them per slot and they participate in the real crafting calculation.
  • Real crafting math

    • Uses C_TradeSkillUI.GetCraftingOperationInfo() (the same API the game uses) to compute your actual skill, recipe difficulty, and bonus stats based on your selected materials, specialization and gear.
    • Quality thresholds follow the current expansion rules (5★ = 20%/50%/80%/100% of difficulty, etc.).
    • Concentration (专注) support: quality +1 (capped at max quality).
  • Material tooltips

    • Hover any material icon to preview the item — including the exact quality-tier item you selected.
  • Chinese UI, draggable windows, minimap button, and slash commands.

Usage

  1. Open your Profession window (K) and select a profession. The CraftSim quick panel appears (toggle it with the "CraftSim" button near the profession window).
  2. Click any recipe on the left — the panel follows it.
  3. Set each material's quality (1★/2★/3★) and pick optional/finishing reagents.
  4. Click Calculate Quality to see:
    • Guaranteed star rating (no Inspiration)
    • Max star rating with Inspiration
    • Star rating with Concentration
    • Real skill & recipe difficulty used
  5. For full profit simulation, open the standalone window with /cs (or /craftsim/制模), set quantities/prices and run Simulate.

Note: recipe data can only be read while a Profession window is open (a game API limitation). Open it once and the addon will remember each profession — after that it can even auto-open the profession page for you.

Slash Commands

  • /cs or /craftsim — open/close the full simulator
  • /制模 — same (Chinese client)

Compatibility

  • World of Warcraft Retail: Midnight (12.x), The War Within (11.x), Dragonflight (10.x)
  • Modern profession system only (no Classic support)

FAQ

Q: The recipe list is empty.
A: Open the Profession window (K) once — the addon reads the currently displayed profession page. It will auto-refresh and stay in sync with the version filter you have selected.

Q: Why does the star rating differ from what I craft in-game?
A: Make sure your skill/modifiers are current (the addon auto-fills from the game where possible) and that you selected the right material qualities — higher-quality materials give real skill bonuses that are included in the calculation.

Q: Does it read Auction House prices?
A: Not yet — prices are entered manually and saved per item.
