What Is the CopyOwners Plugin?
CopyOwners is a small utility AddOn designed specifically for Auction House use in World of Warcraft. Its goal is very straightforward: to turn the process of recording Auction House seller names from “copying them down one by one by hand” into “one-click batch organization.” Naturally, this also includes those celestial sellers whose names contain rare or uncommon characters.
You can first create multiple item groups within the plugin, such as a gem group, potion group, flask group, and so on. Then, within each item group, you add the specific item IDs or item names you want to search for. For example, in the gem group, you can add the flawless blue gems you want to track. After that, when you go to the Auction House, the plugin can search for all sellers of all items under one or more predefined item groups.
The plugin then lists all seller names in the results panel and formats them as:
CharacterName/Server.
The whole process revolves around:
Item Group → Batch Search → Unified Output
Installation
Place the CopyOwners folder into:
World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns\CopyOwners
The directory should contain at least:
-
CopyOwners.toc -
CopyOwners.lua
After relogging and entering the game, type /co or /copyowners in the chat box to open the CopyOwners plugin.
Instructions for Use
Step 1: Open the Interface
Type:
/co
or/copyowners
to open the CopyOwners interface.
Step 2: Create a New Item Group
Click New on the left-hand side. By default, it will create something like New Item Group 2 and automatically select it.
Step 3: Give It a Name
In the Item Group Name field on the right, enter a recognizable name, such as:
-
[Gem Friendship]
-
[Enchanting Friendship]
or any other item category that seems suspiciously likely to involve celestial beings camping the market.
Then click Save Current Item Group.
Step 4: Add Items to the Group
There are two commonly used methods.
Method 1: Manual Input, One Per Line
For example:
242621 [Glimmering Gem Dust]
Method 2: Click “Insert Mouseover Item”
Move your mouse over an item, then click the button, and the plugin will automatically insert it.
You can also click once in the Item List input box, then go to your bag or TSM and Shift+Click the item.
If there are quality-star markers in the item text, such as:
242621 [Glimmering Gem Dust Gold Star]242788 [Duskstone Silver Star]
it is best to delete the text portion and keep only the numeric item IDs, like this:
242621242788
Then click Save Current Item Group. The Chinese item names will be filled in automatically, and the text layout will look cleaner and more readable.
Step 5: Open the Auction House
Open any Auction House interface, whether in a capital city or on the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur.
Step 6: Check the Desired Item Groups and Click “Search Checked Item Groups”
If you do not check any groups, the plugin will search the currently selected group by default. If you check multiple groups, it will merge and deduplicate all items from them, then search them together.
Note: after clicking Search Checked Item Groups, if no players are found, simply click the button once again.
Step 7: Copy the Results and Begin Making Friends with the Immortals
After the search is complete, the results will be written into the Result Names box and automatically highlighted for convenient copying.
The current version outputs all names as a single space-separated line, for example:
ZhangSan/RagingFire LiSi/Lothar WangWu/Ansu
You can then directly press Ctrl + C.
Although the immortal names may still appear as boxes inside the result panel, once pasted into another editor, their true names will often display correctly. At last, the path to joyful friendship is open.
