Fishing Fixed makes fishing reliably usable with a controller in WoW Forever.
WoW Forever has native controller support, but fishing currently has one major problem: your bobber can land outside the range of the game's controller interaction system.
When that happens, your normal Interact button cannot reach the bobber. Controller players are then forced to grab a mouse or manually recast.
Fishing Fixed works around that problem while keeping fishing as close as possible to WoW Forever's native controller experience.
What It Does
- Uses X / PAD3 as your fishing button.
- Casts Fishing when you're ready to fish.
- Detects when your bobber enters WoW Forever's usable interaction range.
- Keeps X as the game's normal native Interact button when the bobber is reachable.
- Detects bad casts where no usable bobber is acquired.
- Turns X into a one-press recast when a cast lands out of range.
- Automatically returns to the normal fishing loop after a catch.
- Displays a RECAST warning when the current cast needs to be retried.
- Includes optional feedback for when your bobber is ready to interact with.
- Leaves normal keyboard Interact bindings unchanged.
- Never automatically casts or loots. Every fishing action still requires your input.
How It Works
WoW Forever's native controller support can interact with objects throughout the world, but fishing bobbers are limited by the game's soft-interaction range.
If your bobber lands within that range, Fishing Fixed gets out of the way and lets WoW Forever's native controller interaction work normally.
If the bobber lands outside that range, Fishing Fixed detects the failed cast and changes X into a recast instead.
That gives controller players a simple loop:
X to cast → X to interact with a good cast → X to recast a bad cast.
No mouse required.

Enables or disables Smart Mode, which automatically manages when X should use the fishing helper behavior./kff mode on//kff mode off

Enables or disables fishing-pole detection used to determine when the fishing controls should be active./kff keys
Shows the controller and keyboard inputs Fishing Fixed is currently using./kff delay 1.25
Changes the delay used before determining that a cast did not produce a usable bobber. Replace1.25with your preferred delay in seconds./kff ready on//kff ready off
Enables or disables the optional notification when your bobber is ready for interaction./kff debug on//kff debug off
Enables or disables additional diagnostic messages for troubleshooting./kff test
Runs the addon's built-in test/diagnostic output.
