CPA --- Consume Price Assist

Buyer-aware consume cost calculator for WoW Classic Era.

CPA is designed to make cost-price crafting simple. It calculates the material cost of requested consumables using current Auction House pricing, compares the cost of crafting with the current Auction House price, and produces a clear Order Quote for delivery to a buyer.

How CPA Works

CPA works from the finished item backwards.

When you request an item, CPA determines the materials required to craft it and calculates their current cost using Auction House prices. It then compares the resulting crafting cost with the current price of the finished item on the Auction House.

This gives you a practical view of the real cost of producing an item rather than simply looking at its selling price.

Creating an Order

Select or create a buyer, add the consumables they require and specify the quantities.

CPA calculates each requested item and produces an Order summary showing:

• The requested item and quantity
• Whether crafting is the preferred route
• Crafting cost
• Auction House comparison price
• The resulting delivery total
• Overall Order fulfilment

Orders are designed to provide a clear, copy-friendly summary that can be communicated directly to the buyer.

Craft vs Auction House

CPA compares the calculated crafting cost against the current Auction House price for the finished item.

For example:

This allows you to see immediately whether making the item yourself represents the lower cost.

Auctionator

CPA uses Auctionator's Auction House pricing data to value both crafting materials and finished items.

Auctionator is therefore required for CPA's live price calculations.

Crafting Recipes

CPA contains a comprehensive list of WoW Classic craft recipes.

Unresolved Items

CPA will not guess.

If it cannot establish a viable crafting route or obtain a usable Auction House value, the item is marked UNRESOLVED rather than being assigned an unreliable price.

This prevents an unresolved item from silently producing an incorrect Order total.

Installation

1. Install Auctionator.
2. Install CPA --- Consume Price Assist.
3. Place both addons in your WoW Classic Era Interface/AddOns folder.
4. Restart or reload the game if required.

CPA uses WoW SavedVariables to retain its buyer and configuration data between sessions.

Planned Development

v1.5 --- Auction House Price History

Planned pricing improvements will give users more control over how Auction House prices are used:

• Latest Scan --- use prices from the most recent Auction House scan.
• Rolling Average --- use price history to smooth short-term Auction House fluctuations and provide a more stable cost price.

The aim is to make cost-price calculations more representative of typical Auction House values rather than being overly affected by temporary price spikes or drops.

v2.0 --- CPA + COF Integration

Direct synchronisation between CPA --- Consume Price Assist and its companion buyer-focused addon, COF --- Customer Order Form, to streamline the order and quote process.

CPA is intended as a practical cost-price tool for WoW Classic Era players who craft consumables for other players.

Prices are based on the Auction House data available to CPA at the time of calculation and may therefore change as the Auction House changes.
