CompRaidMarkers

CompRaidMarkers is a lightweight World of Warcraft addon designed for Retail (12.0+) that helps group leaders and assistants quickly apply raid markers to specific players — even with Blizzard’s new restrictions on automatic marking.

Since Patch 12.0, addons can no longer directly place raid markers using protected Blizzard functions. Instead, CompRaidMarkers works the smart way: it scans your group and automatically builds a macro, Based on pre-assigned markers, that you click to apply the marks.

This keeps everything fully compliant with Blizzard’s UI restrictions while still making raid marking fast and painless.

🔧 How It Works (Retail 12.0+ Compatible)

Because Blizzard blocks addons from directly marking players in combat or via code, this addon does not attempt to place raid markers automatically.

Instead, CompRaidMarkers generates a macro using /targetexact and /tm, allowing the player to apply marks manually through a single click — the safe and supported way.

📌 Usage

Step 1: Assign Markers

Open Settings → AddOns → CompRaidMarkers
Add character names and choose their marker icon.

You can also assign markers by right-clicking a player frame in your group.

Step 2: Scan Group

Use the command:

/crm scan

This will automatically build or update your Mark macro.

Step 3: Apply Marks

Drag the Mark macro onto your action bar and click it to apply the markers.

🧠 Slash Commands

• /crm scan
       Builds/updates the Mark macro based on your current group.
• /crm minimap
       Shows the minimap button if it has been hidden.

⭐ Notes

• You must be Party Leader / Raid Leader / Assistant for marking to work.
• The addon cannot apply markers automatically due to Blizzard restrictions.
• Marking happens through a user-clicked macro, which is allowed.
• Supports both Party and Raid groups.
• Supports Name-Realm format for cross-server players.
