This is a personal addon I built for a very specific use case. It displays grey boxes with custom text on screen, triggered by combat events. It's on CurseForge for easy installation across my machines, and to trigger overlay effects within OBS.
What it does:
- Shows grey boxes with custom text on your screen
- Triggers on events like: dying, getting healed, taking damage, resurrecting
- Boxes are fully draggable so you can position them wherever you want
- Text fades out after a set duration
- Settings persist between sessions
Why you probably don't need it: This was built around my exact needs. It allows me to trigger overlay effects within OBS using the advanced scene switcher add on, nothing more, nothing less. There are far more polished combat text addons available like MSBT or Parrot that handle combat feedback properly. This is a simple box-on-screen tool, nothing more.
Requirements:
- World of Warcraft: Midnight (12.x)
- Uses fallback event system compatible with Midnight's API restrictions
Commands: Type /cw in-game for a full list of commands.
