ColeProfessionPlanner-TBC

Plans profession leveling routes using auction prices, bags, banks, alts, recipes, and source locations for TBC Anniversary.

Cole Profession Planner

Cole Profession Planner turns profession leveling into a practical, price-aware route instead of a static guide. It is built for the official World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary client and currently targets interface 2.5.6.

What it does

  • Calculates an expected-cost leveling route from your current profession skill to a selected target.
  • Uses recipe difficulty breakpoints and orange, yellow, green, and gray skill-up probabilities.
  • Prices the quantity you actually need instead of multiplying a single cheapest auction listing.
  • Deducts materials already in your bags and optionally includes banks and same-realm, same-faction alts.
  • Understands intermediate crafts and reversible conversions such as lesser/greater essences and motes/primals.
  • Builds a final shopping list and can create or search Auctionator lists at the Auction House.
  • Compares eligible alternative recipes, including formulas and patterns that may be cheaper after their one-time purchase cost.
  • Shows trainers, vendors, reputation requirements, quests, and mob drops for each recipe.
  • Opens mapped recipe sources and can send the selected source to TomTom.
  • Detects learned professions and current skill, sorts them first, and opens the Blizzard profession window from the planner.
  • Detects the TBC Anniversary client automatically and filters recipe availability for the selected content phase.

Typical workflow

  1. Open Cole with /cole, /cpp, or the minimap button.
  2. Choose a learned profession and target skill.
  3. Select whether current bags/bank and alt bags/banks should be used.
  4. At the Auction House, click Refresh all prices to scan every material that can participate in the candidate routes.
  5. Click Calculate to build the route.
  6. Open Shopping list to review exact remaining quantities, create an Auctionator list, or search the materials.

Optional integrations

  • Auctionator: shopping lists, multi-search, and quantity-aware auction pricing.
  • TradeSkillMaster / TSM AppHelper: DBMarket fallback when a compatible price API is available.
  • Auctioneer: auction-price fallback.
  • TomTom: waypoints for the trainer, vendor, or mob source selected by the player.
  • Baganator / Syndicator and Bagnon / BagBrother: cached bags and banks for the current character and alts.

All integrations are optional. Cole remains usable without them, with fewer price, inventory, or navigation features.

Privacy

Cole does not transmit personal or gameplay data outside the game. Settings, cached professions, inventory snapshots, and prices remain in World of Warcraft SavedVariables. Auction searches are initiated by the player through installed auction addons.

Commands

  • /cole or /cpp - open or close the planner.
  • /cole phase auto - restore automatic phase selection.
  • /cole phase 1 through /cole phase 6 - override the selected phase.
  • /cole minimap - restore a hidden minimap button.
  • /cole price <itemId> <price> - store a manual unit price, for example /cole price 2589 12s50c.
  • /cole clearprice <itemId> - remove a manual price.
  • /cole pricecheck <itemId> - show available Auctionator and TSM price data.

Notes and limitations

  • Route costs are estimates based on expected skill-up probabilities and the auction data available to your client.
  • Auction volume snapshots expire after 30 minutes. Refresh prices before a major purchase.
  • Blizzard does not expose the active content phase directly through the addon API. Cole uses known Anniversary release dates and provides a manual phase override for future transitions.
  • Intermediate crafts are considered only when the required profession is known on the current character or on an alt previously seen by Cole.
  • The current release has an English interface.
