CleanPlayerNames

Description

CleanPlayerNames is a lightweight addon for WoW Forever designed to simplify friendly player names and reduce visual clutter.

When Clean Mode is enabled, the addon replaces the full friendly-player display with a cleaner name-only style.

Features

• Shows the player’s first name only
• Hides secondary names / surnames
• Hides guild names
• Hides guild titles / ranks
• Hides PvP titles
• Uses friendly nameplates to create a clean name-only display
• Removes health bars and unnecessary nameplate elements
• Includes a minimap toggle button
• Green indicator = Clean Mode enabled
• Red indicator = normal display
• Minimap button can be moved around the minimap

Commands

/cpn on — Enable Clean Mode
/cpn off — Disable Clean Mode
/cpn toggle — Toggle Clean Mode
/cpn refresh — Refresh visible player names
/cpn debug — Display diagnostic information

Known limitation

Some player names using certain Asian characters, especially Korean, Chinese, or Japanese character sets, may not be displayed correctly when Clean Mode is enabled.

In rare cases, the addon may show incomplete characters or incorrect glyphs instead of the expected first name.

This is currently a known limitation of the name-processing method used by the addon and will be investigated in future versions.
