Description
Classic UI Forever brings the familiar look of Classic WoW to World of Warcraft: Forever. It focuses on the interface you see while exploring, fighting, and playing with a group: your character portrait, target frame, party frames, nameplates, minimap, and cast bars.
If you want to experience Forever’s new adventures with an interface that feels closer to the original game, that’s what this addon is being built for.
The current alpha includes:
-
Classic unit frames: Restores Classic Era portrait borders, elite and rare artwork, health and resource bar borders, and text styling for supported player, target, target-of-target, and pet frames. The styling works around the game’s existing frames and health/resource updates.
-
Portrait-style party frames: Applies Classic artwork to the party’s portraits and bars for a more familiar group display. This feature uses portrait-style party frames; turn off “Use Raid-Style Party Frames” in Edit Mode to see them.
-
Classic nameplates: Enables Forever’s native Classic nameplate layout and adds the original Era health-bar border artwork. This changes the appearance of the bars above characters while keeping the game’s underlying nameplate behavior.
-
Classic minimap: Restores a round minimap with Classic borders, zone heading, zoom controls, indicators, and clock styling. It starts in the top-right corner and supports repositioning through Edit Mode.
-
Classic cast bars: Restyles the existing player, pet, target, and focus cast bars with Classic borders and text placement, using the game’s own casting and channel timing.
The addon initially sets UI scale to 87% and nameplates to the game’s Large preset. You can adjust these afterward, and later manual choices are preserved.
Features can be switched on or off individually. For example, /fcui disable castbars disables the cast-bar styling, and /fcui enable castbars turns it back on. Available modules are unitframes, nameplates, minimap, castbars, and uiscale.
Use /fcui status to check enabled features. If something looks wrong, /fcui report creates a report you can copy into a bug report. Include a screenshot and what you were doing when the issue appeared.
This is an early alpha targeting the Forever beta. It has not yet been tested in-game on Forever, and visual or compatibility issues are expected during development. The current build focuses on the elements listed above; action bars, gryphons, bags, the spellbook, and other menus retain their existing presentation.
Before removing the addon, use /fcui restore to restore its saved UI scale and nameplate settings and disable its skins.
