C.H.A.D. (Combat Hardware Analytics Datahandler) is a lightweight World of Warcraft benchmarking addon that records FPS, latency, addon memory usage, graphics settings, and gameplay events for detailed performance analysis.

C.H.A.D. Datahandler

Combat Hardware Analytics Datahandler

Collect. Measure. Record.

C.H.A.D. Datahandler is a lightweight World of Warcraft performance benchmarking and data collection addon designed to capture detailed gameplay performance information for analysis using the standalone C.H.A.D. Dashboard companion application.

Whether you're exploring Azeroth, running Mythic+ dungeons, raiding, or testing different graphics settings, C.H.A.D. Datahandler records performance measurements and relevant gameplay information into structured benchmark sessions.

IMPORTANT: C.H.A.D. Datahandler is the recording component only. To view detailed benchmark reports, graphs, historical comparisons, and collected data, you must use the separate C.H.A.D. Dashboard companion application and import your C.H.A.D. log.

The in-game addon provides live performance statistics, recording controls, and basic benchmark history summaries.

Features

FPS Benchmark Recording

  • Configurable FPS sampling intervals.

  • Manual Start, Stop, and Quick Start recording.

  • Automatic session numbering and benchmark organization.

  • FPS sample collection throughout each recording.

  • Average, minimum, and maximum FPS summaries.

  • Automatic recording of relevant location and session information.

Configurable Benchmark Modules

Choose exactly what information C.H.A.D. collects during a benchmark.

FPS
Records frame-rate measurements at the selected sampling interval.

Latency
Collects home and world network latency measurements at configurable intervals.

Addon Usage
Captures addon memory usage information for later examination.

Game Events
Records relevant gameplay events and transitions to provide additional context.

Graphics Settings
Captures graphics configuration information to help document the settings used during testing.

Position / Coordinates
Records available location and coordinate information to help identify where performance measurements occurred.

Use FPS Only for focused frame-rate recording or All Modules for comprehensive data collection.

Customizable In-Game Overlay

Monitor performance while playing without needing to open the main addon interface.

The overlay provides:

  • Live FPS readings.

  • Optional world latency display.

  • Optional home latency display.

  • Optional addon memory usage.

  • Vertical and horizontal layouts.

  • Adjustable interface scale and background opacity.

  • Quick Start, Start, and Stop controls.

  • Movable overlay with locking controls.

Each overlay statistic can be enabled or disabled independently.

In-Game Benchmark History

C.H.A.D. maintains a list of recorded benchmark sessions directly inside World of Warcraft.

The history interface displays basic information such as:

  • Session number and recording name.

  • Recorded location.

  • Sample count.

  • Average, minimum, and maximum FPS.

  • Recording status.

  • Captured event count.

The newest recordings appear first.

The in-game history is a recording overview, not a full analytics dashboard. Detailed data visualization and analysis are handled by the standalone companion application.

How to Use C.H.A.D. Datahandler

1. Install the Addon

Install C.H.A.D. Datahandler through CurseForge or extract the addon into your World of Warcraft AddOns directory.

Enable the addon from the game's AddOns menu.

2. Configure Your Benchmark

Open the C.H.A.D. interface using its minimap icon.

Choose your preferred:

  • FPS and latency sampling intervals.

  • Benchmark recording modules.

  • Overlay statistics.

  • Overlay orientation, scale, and background opacity.

Click Save Settings to retain your configuration.

3. Start Recording

Use the in-game overlay to begin collecting benchmark data.

Quick Start begins a benchmark using automatic session naming.

Start allows you to initiate a named recording session.

Play normally while C.H.A.D. collects the enabled performance measurements.

4. Stop Your Benchmark

Press Stop on the overlay when you've finished testing.

Your benchmark session is retained in World of Warcraft's SavedVariables data.

You can review its basic summary in Bench History.

5. Import Your Data into C.H.A.D. Dashboard

To examine your recorded data in detail, use the standalone C.H.A.D. Dashboard companion application.

C.H.A.D. stores its benchmark data in:

World of Warcraft/_retail_/WTF/Account/<YourAccount>/SavedVariables/CHAD.lua

The exact installation and account directory names depend on your World of Warcraft setup.

After your recordings are saved to disk, import the CHAD.lua file into the companion application.

Important: World of Warcraft normally writes SavedVariables to disk when you log out or exit the game. Make sure your recordings have been saved before importing the log.

C.H.A.D. Dashboard — Companion Application

Analyze. Compare. Optimize.

C.H.A.D. Dashboard is the standalone application responsible for reading and analyzing the data collected by C.H.A.D. Datahandler.

The companion is intended to provide detailed benchmark reports, performance graphs, session comparisons, and deeper examination of recorded measurements.

The companion application is separate from this CurseForge addon download.

C.H.A.D. Datahandler collects the information. C.H.A.D. Dashboard makes that information useful for detailed analysis.

Privacy and Performance

C.H.A.D. Datahandler operates locally within World of Warcraft.

  • No cloud account required.

  • No external telemetry.

  • No automatic transmission of benchmark data.

  • Locally stored benchmark sessions.

  • Configurable recording modules to control data collection.

  • Performance-conscious sampling and interface behavior.

C.H.A.D. is designed to collect performance information with minimal unnecessary overhead. As with any benchmarking addon, recording activity can introduce some overhead, and captured FPS values represent sampled measurements rather than continuous frame-time analysis.

About

Developed by RENSTAUD, C.H.A.D. Datahandler was created to provide World of Warcraft players with a structured and configurable method of collecting real-world performance measurements.

Whether comparing graphics settings, testing hardware configurations, or documenting performance across different environments, C.H.A.D. provides the recording foundation for meaningful benchmark analysis.
