CastMode

Mouseover, focus and self-cast modes for your action bars – without writing a single macro.

For WoW Forever, Classic Era and TBC Anniversary.

Type /cm, click a spell on your action bar, pick a mode. CastMode writes the macro and puts it on the button. Pick "Default" to get the plain spell back.

Modes

• Mouseover, Else Target / Mouseover Only
• Focus, Else Target / Focus Only
• Mouseover, Focus, Else Target
• Mouseover, Target, Else Self – for heals and buffs
• Target's Target, Else Target – heal the tank the boss is hitting
• Self
• At Cursor – ground spells land at your mouse cursor

Smart macros

• help / harm / nodead added automatically: heals only on living friends, attacks only on living enemies, resurrections only on dead friends.
• Hold Alt to cast helpful spells on yourself.
• Spell ranks: the macro keeps the rank on the button, so Rank 1 and Rank 2 of a heal can have different modes. Made for downranking.

Merges – up to three spells, one button

• Modifier keys: one spell without a key, one or two more on Shift, Ctrl or Alt – e.g. Flash Heal, Shift: Greater Heal, Alt: Penance. Or just two: Remove Curse, Shift: Abolish Poison.
• Friend / Enemy: one spell on friends, one on enemies – e.g. Cure Poison / Purge. Choose a default spell that is cast when nothing fits, so the button never shows a "?".
• Put it on a button: add the merge in the settings, then start setup mode (/cm), click a button with one of its spells and pick the merge under "Merge".
• Edit a merge any time – buttons that use it update automatically.
• Class presets for Druid, Priest and Shaman.

Templates

Ready-made macros for things one condition can't do:

• Hunter pet care: Mend Pet when your pet is alive, Revive Pet when it's dead, Call Pet when it's gone.
• Warlock pet care: Health Funnel on your pet, otherwise summon your demon.

Also

• Mode labels on the buttons (MO, FO, MG, …) and the rank (R1, R2).
• Unused macros are cleaned up automatically.
• Font size setting, minimap button.

Commands

• /cm – setup mode on/off
• /cm options – settings
• /cm rebuild – rewrite all CastMode macros
• /cm cleanup – delete unused CastMode macros

Note

Setup mode doesn't work in combat – the game locks macros and action bars. Works with the Blizzard action bars.

DISCLAIMER: yes im aware a lot of add-ons popped up thanks to AI, and yes I used ai too and I created this addon mostly for my self, and think it is fine to alter your game and create your own QoL stuff on the way. And sometimes you think the idea is nice enough to show them to others.
