Have you ever swapped a talent, changed a trinket, or wanted to see how a heavy mastery build does vs a heavy haste build and wondered, "Wait, did that actually help?"

BuildCompare is a lightweight, easy-to-read comparison tool designed specifically for the average World of Warcraft player. I am not trying to replace or compete with hardcore parsing websites, but rather trying to give you as close and fast a comparison as possible right in the game to answer one simple question: "How did my performance change when I swapped X for Y?"

My Design Philosophy

This addon is built around simplicity and visibility. I am not trying to track every single microscopic combat event or obscure buff. Instead, BuildCompare gives you a beautifully formatted, side-by-side breakdown of the things that have the biggest impacts when experimenting with your build:

• Core Metrics: Damage, Healing, DPS/HPS, Interrupts, Dispels, and Deaths.
• Defensive Play: Tracks "Avoidable Damage Taken" so you can see if a new build helped you survive, or if you just stood in more fire.
• Cooldown Usage: A clean breakdown of how many times you pressed your offensive, defensive, and healing cooldowns (complete with spell tooltips and icons).
• Talent & Gear Tracking: Automatically snapshots your Item Level, core stats, and chosen talents. The UI will specifically highlight the unique talents that were different between two runs, so you know exactly what changed!

What This Addon Is NOT

BuildCompare is not a replacement for advanced parsing addons or deep-dive analysis websites. It won't tell you the average hit of your auto-attacks, and it won't map out your exact positioning during a boss fight. It is designed to be a fast, intuitive "Run A vs. Run B" testing ground, aimed at helping you make confident, informed decisions about your loadout without needing a spreadsheet.

A Personal Note

This is the very first WoW addon I have ever made! I am learning Lua and the WoW API as I go. It has been an incredible journey bringing this tool to life, and I am actively refining the UI and features.
