BuffettForever by Typheous

BuffettForever help you maximize gold production through basic economics, using ROI (return on investment), auction house quick flips for profits, and buying and selling crafted items from your professions.

BuffettForever

An Auction House scanner and crafting advisor for World of Warcraft Forever: what to craft, where to sell it, and the return on every gold piece.

Drop your materials into the tray and see every recipe they make, what each costs, what it sells for, and whether it's worth crafting at all.

Features

Auction House prices

  • Full scan in about 5 seconds, from the Scan button in the window or under the Auction House frame. The Auction House allows one about every 15 minutes.
  • 14 days of price history per item: the market value, the cheapest listing, and the listings behind them.
  • Alt+Right-click an item in your bags to price-check it at the Auction House, or to add it to the tray anywhere.
  • Tooltips show Auction House and vendor prices.
  • Your own auctions are left out, so they never count as the market.

What to craft

  • Reagent tray: up to 25 materials (drag them, Alt+Right-click them, or Load from bags) and every recipe that uses them, from every profession. Each slot shows where its units are: an envelope for what's still in your mailbox, a grey icon when none are in your bags, an orange count when you're short.
  • Cost by source: a vendor, the Auction House, a recipe you know, or the materials you own at what they'd sell for.
  • Both exits: what a vendor pays, against the Auction House after the house cut, the deposit and the chance it sells.
  • Profit, ROI and a confidence grade (A to D) for every recipe, a top pick, and the best batch size.
  • Laid out like the profession window: the result and each reagent with its icon, what you have and what you need.
  • Search as you type: type part of an item's name and every view shows only the matches.
  • Profession profits: every recipe in your professions, grouped by profession with your skill and the profession window's skill-up colours. Only the tray's materials count as yours, so you see what each recipe pays when you buy the rest.

Buying, one click at a time

  • The Buy bar under the details, in Profession profits and AH flips. In Profession profits, Crafts sets the batch and Best picks the best batch your gold covers.
  • At the Auction House: Buy shows a missing reagent's live price, and Confirm buys it at that price or less. A rise over the estimate shows, and a loss shows in red.
  • At a vendor: Buy buys the reagents it sells, straight into your bags.
  • AH flips: Buy buys what's still below what a vendor pays, a stackable item in one purchase, gear one auction at a time.
  • What you buy for a recipe goes into the tray. Auction House purchases come by mail: the tray marks them until you collect them, and Collect, a button under the mail window, takes them, one mail per click.

Crafting and selling

  • Create: crafts the recipe from your bags, from the details. The game crafts only with the profession's window open, so the first click, Open Profession, opens it at the recipe. Stop ends a batch. Every finished craft takes its reagents off the tray.
  • Sell on AH: lists what you crafted at the cheapest listing by others, from a search just before. The price, the deposit and what you'd get show first, and Confirm posts. It refuses a price a vendor beats, and what comes back unsold is yours to sell again.

Risk-free finds

  • Vendor crafts: recipes you know that profit on vendor prices alone.
  • AH flips: listings in your last scan priced below what a vendor pays.

Your sales

  • Reads the Auction House mail in your mailbox (sold, expired, cancelled) without opening it.
  • Measures your house cut and each item's chance to sell, so the advice follows your own results.

Market sense

  • Walls that never move: a price that holds for days while nothing sells is flagged, and isn't recommended.
  • Mr. Market: a price well away from its fair value shows as cheap or dear.

Settings

  • From the Options tab: margin of safety, minimum profit per craft, the lowest confidence grade, how your own materials count, the house cut, the sale chance, and the days of price history.
  • Selling on the Auction House: the price Sell on AH posts at (the cheapest listing, or 1c, 1%, 5% or 10% under it), the auction length, and never below what a vendor pays.

How it works

BuffettForever never buys or posts without your click: each shows its price first. Prices come from the Auction House while you're at an auctioneer, the 1,976 recipes from Forever's own game data, and vendor prices from the item data and the merchants you visit.

Named for Warren Buffett's rules of investing (never lose money, a margin of safety, Mr. Market, opportunity cost); no affiliation.
