  • Corrected listing ages and Ascension custom class names.
  • Reduced duplicate parsing, listings, alerts, and Network refreshes.
  • Disabled unsupported Invasion listeners outside an enabled Triumvirate profile.
  • Removed unnecessary hidden-panel polling and recurring UI scans.
  • Added bounded caches, batched refreshes, and deferred chat processing.
  • Expanded the built-in parser regression suite to 33 cases.

SignalFire is a group-finding, guild recruitment, event, notice, and community networking addon built for World of Warcraft 3.3.5, with dedicated support for:

  • Ascension / Conquest of Azeroth
  • Triumvirate

Originally developed from the BronzeLFG project, SignalFire has evolved into a profile-aware social hub designed to turn fast-moving public chat into organized, searchable information.

Instead of constantly watching chat for dungeon groups, raids, guild recruitment, events, Mythic+ runs, RDF groups, or other activities, players can browse structured listings through a clean interface built around the content available on their server.

SignalFire is designed to be useful immediately, even when only one player has it installed, while becoming more powerful as more players begin using its Network, Events, Notices, Favorites, and shared community features.

Public Groups Browser

The Public Groups Browser monitors supported public chat channels and converts recruitment messages into organized listings.

SignalFire can recognize and categorize:

  • Dungeon groups
  • Raid groups
  • Mythic+ and Keystone groups
  • Ascended Raids
  • RDF groups
  • World Boss groups
  • Guild recruitment
  • Leveling groups
  • Social and community activities
  • Custom events
  • Applicant-style LFG posts
  • Tank, Healer, and DPS requirements

Additional features include:

  • Support for Vanilla, Burning Crusade, and Wrath content
  • Ascension- and Triumvirate-specific activities
  • Recognition of common abbreviations and shorthand
  • Search, filtering, paging, and category controls
  • Automatic expiration of stale listings
  • Duplicate reduction and cleanup
  • Clickable SignalFire chat links
  • Strict parsing to reduce false listings
  • Filtering of unrelated Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and promotional links

Whenever possible, SignalFire identifies the actual activity being advertised and presents it in a cleaner, more readable format than the original chat message.

Create Listing

SignalFire includes a complete listing creator for players who want to advertise their own groups.

Create Listing supports:

  • Dungeon listings
  • Raid listings
  • Mythic+ listings
  • Ascended Raid listings
  • RDF activities
  • World Bosses
  • Custom events
  • Difficulty selection
  • Mythic+ key levels
  • Required roles
  • Custom notes
  • Live posting previews

Ascension players receive dedicated Mythic+ and Ascended Raid options, along with a compact, scrollable dungeon selector designed for the larger custom activity pool.

Listings can be posted, refreshed, rebroadcast, updated, or canceled directly through SignalFire.

Applicants and Player Profiles

Players can create a reusable application profile containing information such as:

  • Preferred role
  • Class
  • Specialization
  • Item level
  • Discord availability
  • Custom application notes
  • Reusable whisper templates

Group leaders can review applicants, view submitted information, contact players, and manage their active listings without relying entirely on chat history.

Guild Browser and Recruitment

SignalFire includes a dedicated Guild Browser that transforms supported guild advertisements into searchable recruitment profiles.

Features include:

  • Automatic guild advertisement detection
  • Guild profile creation from recruitment messages
  • Guild activity and recruitment tag recognition
  • Search and filtering
  • Favorite guild tracking
  • Guild details and recruitment information
  • SignalFire Network integration
  • Reusable recruitment templates
  • Safer outgoing recruitment broadcasts
  • Improved filtering of unrelated promotional links

Instead of guild advertisements disappearing into chat history, SignalFire provides a centralized place to browse and compare recruiting communities.

SignalFire Network

The SignalFire Network allows addon users to discover and interact with one another beyond traditional chat-based recruitment.

Network features include:

  • SignalFire user presence detection
  • Online and offline tracking
  • Full Roster view
  • Player details and quick actions
  • Guild and group information
  • Favorite players
  • Manual refresh
  • Optional 15-, 30-, or 60-second auto-refresh
  • Duplicate-player cleanup
  • Stale-user expiration
  • Clear loading, searching, and no-response states

On Ascension / CoA, Network discovery is limited to actual SignalFire users and does not rely on unsupported /who behavior.

On Triumvirate, additional supported discovery features remain available where appropriate.

SignalFire remains useful without universal adoption, but the Network becomes increasingly valuable as more players begin using the addon.

Favorites and Alerts

SignalFire includes configurable favorites and notification tools.

Players can receive alerts when:

  • A favorite player comes online
  • A favorite player creates or advertises a group
  • A listing appears for a favorite activity
  • A followed event becomes active

Alert options include:

  • Toast notifications
  • Sound alerts
  • Duplicate protection
  • Cooldown controls
  • Favorite Activity tracking
  • Favorite player group alerts
  • Event alert preferences

These features help players follow the people and activities they care about without constantly monitoring chat.

Community Event Board

The Community Event Board provides a dedicated place for player-organized activities.

Supported event types include:

  • Dungeon runs
  • World Bosses
  • Invasions
  • PvP events
  • Social events
  • Custom community events

Players can:

  • Create events
  • Browse upcoming events
  • Filter by event type
  • View full event details
  • Copy event information
  • Manage their own events
  • Dismiss events
  • Configure event alerts
  • Follow favorite event hosts

The Event Board is designed for activities that need more structure and visibility than a single chat message can provide.

Notice Board

SignalFire includes a Notice Board for trusted announcements and important community information.

Notice features include:

  • Priority levels
  • Expiration dates
  • Read and unread states
  • Popup preferences
  • Full notice details
  • Trusted and administrative posting controls
  • Clear and dismiss options

The Notice Board gives communities a persistent place for announcements that should not disappear into chat history.

Profile-Aware Server Support

SignalFire includes dedicated profiles for Ascension / CoA and Triumvirate.

Each profile can control:

  • Available activities
  • Dungeon and raid options
  • Server-specific aliases
  • Module availability
  • Saved settings
  • Listing behavior
  • Network behavior
  • Supported discovery systems

Profile switching updates SignalFire without requiring a full interface reload.

Settings are stored separately between profiles so server-specific preferences do not overwrite one another.

Examples include:

  • Ascension-specific Mythic+ and Ascended Raid tools
  • Ascension SignalFire-only Network behavior
  • Triumvirate-supported Invasions
  • Triumvirate-supported /who enhancements
  • Automatic disabling of unsupported systems

Modules

SignalFire includes a profile-aware Modules manager.

Available modules include:

  • Chat Parsing
  • Guild Browser
  • Recruitment Creator
  • Community Event Board
  • Notice Board
  • Invasions
  • Ascension Listing Tools

Unsupported modules are automatically unavailable on profiles where they cannot function correctly.

Required profile features remain protected from accidental disabling.

Chat and Parser Controls

SignalFire includes user-facing controls for how public chat is processed.

Options include:

  • Public Groups parsing
  • SignalFire chat links
  • Guild recruitment parsing
  • Strict parsing
  • Main Chat Only mode
  • Parser cache clearing
  • Local parser testing

SignalFire uses deferred processing and optimized link handling to reduce the impact of busy public chat.

A built-in 20-case parser regression suite is included to verify core recognition behavior.

Interface and Customization

SignalFire includes:

  • 90%, 100%, 110%, and 120% interface scaling
  • Persistent window positioning
  • Searchable and filterable lists
  • Multi-page browsing
  • Compact dungeon selection
  • Stable profile and version display
  • Standardized Options panels
  • Profile-aware controls
  • Loading and empty-state messaging
  • Cleaner panel opening and closing behavior

The interface is designed to remain usable on older 3.3.5 clients while still providing a modern, organized workflow.

Philosophy

Traditional LFG addons often depend on widespread adoption before they become useful.

SignalFire takes a hybrid approach.

It works immediately by organizing existing public chat activity, while also providing enhanced features for players who install it, including:

  • Structured listings
  • Player profiles
  • Applicants
  • Favorites
  • Community events
  • Notices
  • Network presence
  • Recruitment tools
  • Profile-aware server support

As adoption grows, SignalFire naturally becomes a larger community network without losing its usefulness for individual players.

In short:

SignalFire transforms public chat into a live, searchable group-finding and community network for dungeons, raids, Mythic+, RDF, guild recruitment, events, notices, World Bosses, and social activities—helping players spend less time watching chat and more time playing the game.

Known Limitation

Some Ascension / CoA clients may experience occasional micro-stutter during extremely heavy public-chat link activity.

SignalFire includes deferred parsing, faster chat-link handling, and a Main Chat Only option, but part of this behavior appears to be related to the Ascension / CoA chat-rendering path.

Players affected by it can reduce the impact by enabling Main Chat Only or disabling visible SignalFire chat links.

Opening SignalFire

Use:
