Book Archivist

BookArchivist is a World of Warcraft addon that automatically records every “book” you read in-game (anything shown in the default ItemText frame) and lets you revisit it later in a clean, Blizzard-style library UI

Description

Book Archivist — v2.3.4

Note on v2.4.0-alpha Hello everyone! In the mentioned alpha version i've included a bunch of accessibility features like Text to Speech and keybind naviation through the interface of the addon. I have 0 experience regarding accessibility and if any of the users of the addon has need of them and is willing to give me feedback about it would be very much appreciated

Book Archivist automatically captures every readable book, letter, note, and scroll you encounter in World of Warcraft. Your personal lore library, ready whenever you want to revisit the story.

Version 2.3.4 Fixed an issue where the addon incorrectly detected database corruption on brand new installations. Version 2.3.3 hotfix to use the correct wow version on the toc file so the addon can be correctly loaded.

Version 2.3.2 adds custom book creation and smarter location features.

v2.2.0 – Random Book feature and independent tab pagination

v2.0.0 – Modern database with automatic migration, two-pane UI, and indexed search

How it works

Book Archivist listens to Blizzard's book events and records text only when you read it. Everything stays local in your SavedVariables. Exports happen only when you choose to share.

Notes

  • Captures only the default Blizzard book frame (not gossip/quests/custom dialogues)
  • Archived entries remain even if Blizzard removes the in-game source
  • Database versions v2/v3 cannot be downgraded to v1
