Bloodfeud

Bloodfeud is an open-world PvP addon with a live kill feed and a leaderboard shared by every Bloodfeud user. Hunt the enemy faction with your party, earn points and dominate the rankings!

# Bloodfeud

**Bloodfeud** turns open-world PvP into a competition. Every kill between Bloodfeud users appears in a live kill feed and counts toward a leaderboard that every user sees the same way.

> **Alpha:** This addon is in early testing. Please report bugs on the Issues page.

## How it works

- Kill enemy-faction players in the open world to earn **Faction Points (FP)**.
- A kill counts **only if both the killer and the victim use Bloodfeud**. Killing players without the addon gives no points.
- Everyone starts at **500 FP**. You lose points **only when you die**.
- The kill feed shows the player who landed the **killing blow**.

## Scoring

| Victim's level compared to yours | Points |
|---|---|
| 3+ levels higher | 150 |
| 2 levels higher | 130 |
| 1 level higher | 110 |
| Same level | 100 |
| 1 level lower | 80 |
| 2 levels lower | 50 |
| 3 levels lower | 25 |
| 4+ levels lower | 0 (does not count) |

- **Dying** to another Bloodfeud user costs **60 FP**.
- **Party play:** every party member who was active in the last 60 seconds gets the **full** points. Points are never split. Players who are AFK in town get nothing.

## Kill streaks

Chain killing blows to show off in the feed:

- **Triple Kill:** 3 killing blows within 60 seconds
- **PENTAKILL:** 5 killing blows
- **RAMPAGE:** 8, 11 and 13 killing blows
- **GODLIKE:** 15 killing blows and every 5 after that

A streak ends when you die.

## Leaderboard

- **All-Time** and **Weekly** rankings (the week resets every Monday, UTC)
- Filter by **All**, **Alliance**, **Horde** or **Guilds**
- Shows the top 100 players with their points, kills and killing blows, plus **your own rank**, even if you are outside the top 100

## Shared and fair

- There is no central server. Kills are shared between Bloodfeud users through a hidden chat channel, your guild, your party and your Battle.net friends.
- Points are calculated from shared kill records, not stored scores. Editing your own saved files changes nothing for anyone else, and there is no reset command.
- If you were offline, missed kills are downloaded from other users when you log in.
- A kill needs confirmation from **both sides**. If someone sends a fake record in your name, your client detects it and cancels it for everyone.

## Where it works

- Open world only. Tracking is off in dungeons, raids, battlegrounds and arenas, and while you are in a raid group.

## Commands

- `/cta` – Toggle the kill feed
- `/cta stats` – Statistics & leaderboard window
- `/cta sync` – Request missed kills from the network now

You can also click the minimap button. The kill feed and the leaderboard window can both be moved and resized.

## Known limitations

- The more players use Bloodfeud, the better it works. Kills reach the other faction through mixed parties and Battle.net friends, so with few users some kills may arrive late.
- Players are identified by name and realm.
