Blizz Threat Plates

BlizzThreatPlates enhances Blizzard’s default nameplates with real‑time threat information. It’s an addon designed to show exactly where you stand on threat relative to other players.
The tank priority marker tells the player exactly which enemy he should focus on based on his threat lead or deficit. Very useful with a large number of enemies! The number in the small circle is the number of group members targeting each enemy.

The current threat leader on each enemy is shown (class/pet, name, role) under the threat indicator. Here the tank is 20 and 154 threat points behind the healer and Ravager pet. The health bar is red meaning he doesn't have aggro.

When playing a damage dealer, the priority marker indicates the lowest health enemy which is safe to attack. If the player's threat gets too close to the leader or surpass it, it will switch to the 2nd lowest health enemy which is safe to attack and so on.

When threat data is not available because the player has not yet generated any threat on a mob, the highest total damage done by any player will be shown in white as a guide to know which enemy might have the highest threat built on.

Description

Blizz Threat Plates enhances the default World of Warcraft nameplates by adding real‑time threat information. It helps tanks maintain aggro on all enemies and assists DPS and healers in managing their threat to avoid pulling aggro. It also improves situational awareness by showing which players are leading threat on each mob.

Visual elements

  • Threat‑based health bar colors (green, yellow, red)
  • Threat indicator showing accurate threat values or percentages
  • Threat leader identification (class, name, role)
  • Priority marker highlighting the highest‑priority enemy
  • Target counter showing how many group members are targeting each enemy

Features

  • Multiple threat display modes, including your position relative to the current threat leader
  • Automatic or LFG assigned role detection
  • Multi‑tank and off‑tank support
  • Threat information fallback
When threat information is unavailable, the highest total damage done by any player is shown in white
  • Threat safety buffer
Healers and DPS priority marker appears only when a minimum threat gap below the threat leader is met

Learn your exact threat values

This addon removes the guesswork from threat generation. Use it solo to test your attacks or spells and see their exact threat values. Wondering whether Thunder Clap generates more threat than Demoralizing Shout? Blizz Threat Plates has the answer. Hunters can also use it to know when they're about to pull aggro from their pet.

Why use it?

Threat is a core combat mechanic in World of Warcraft, yet the game provides almost no visibility into it. Blizz Threat Plates fills that gap with clear, intuitive information. If you’ve ever wanted to try tanking but felt intimidated, this addon makes the role far more accessible. If you’re an experienced tank, it gives you the tools to push your performance even further. As a healer, you’ll better understand when your healing might pull aggro or when it’s safe to cast freely. DPS players will know when to start attacking, when to switch targets, and when to use threat‑reducing abilities.

I hope this addon makes your journey in World of Warcraft more enjoyable.

Have fun!
