Description
Journaling
The journal is the core feature I came up with when I would actively journal my adventure in google docs to help build out my original characters. Now I brought it in game. The Journal comes with skins and fonts to customize as well as a "sticky note" feature to give you the feel like its a real personal journal. Journals are entirely private and cannot be seen by others. There is a full navigable Table of Contents which creates a line for every entry. You can bookmark pages to reference quickly. And the journal can be infinitely as big as you make it.
Active or Passive Journaling
Active journaling is a feature that documents EVERY QUEST you complete. It will generate a basic prompt using the quest giver's in game context like name, location, title, time so it can prompt the journaler to revisit and document that adventure to eradicate the frost trolls from Coldrige Valley.
Passive Journaling on the other hand does not automatically document every quest. Instead you a button from the quest giver will allow you to choose to journal that quest in the same way active journaling will. But the add on will still DOCUMENT META and capstone quests in QUEST CHAINS.
What if you accidentally added all these entries you did not want because Active Journaling was on? Just go to the TOC and right click to delete.
What if you downloaded the add on later or at max level and wanted to journal. . .?
Integrated Quest Index
There is a quest index button featured on the journal and if you had already completed quests it can read your character's quest history and draw the quest out and index it. From the index it will order them by the questID's level so it might be innaccurate in the actual time you do it. But you can still journal it and the title will populate. . .but since you are doing this after the fact unfortuantely the add on will not retain the full quest text for reference.
Any quest completed (journaled or not) while the add on is installed and running, will index that quest for later reference. It will provide the full quest text for you to go back and reference that specific lore.
Beacons
Beacons are a lite LFRP feature that acts like hide and seek. The "emitter" creates a beacon with three breadcrumbs at the zone, subzone, and target level. The breadcrumbs emit to the "seeker" to show them they are hot or cold. Minimap pings will also provide hints.
This feature is LFRP IN CHARACTER meaning you intend to show others you are seeking something. If someone wants to pick up the breadcrumb the seeker just keeps following the clues. If not then thats it. A seeker and emitter can toggle their seeking on or off at any time via the toolbox.
Bulletins
Another lite LFRP feature. This is like LFG or Hero's Call Board but player driven. Players meet innkeepers during their adventures. The players can then post notices like IN CHARACTER recruitment ads, bounties, contracts, offers to trade, etc. Other players can go to innkeepers and see these ads and so long as information is provided to reach the poster, they can interact.
Combining Bulletins and Beacons is kept in mind for these to complement each other.
If you happen to be favored by certain factions, you can reach their entire network of innkeepers so long as you have shaken their hand and met them in person wink.
Survival
There is a lite RPG element of survival added in using a free floating and movable Buff and Debuff set:
- Exposure: which adjusts based on zone classifications
- Thirst
- Hunger
- Death counter
- Mount honor system: because adventuring can be hard and walking gets you places mounting really should not.
Safety Features
There is a blizzard report feature integrated into Beacons and Bulletins if anyone is abusing the T&C, social code, or breaking the RP ruleset.
