BiS Planner

Plan your group's raid night: share ranked best-in-slot lists and see which instances and bosses drop the most gear the group still needs

BiS Planner

Plan best-in-slot gear for every character in TBC Anniversary and WoW Forever, share the plans with your guild and your group, and see who needs what from which boss.

Item, enchant and gem selection, sources, prices and the group planner read their data from AtlasLootClassic Continued, which has to be installed. Without it BiS Planner still loads, imports BiS Lists and plans items by item ID, but the selection lists stay empty. See Requirements below.

WoW Forever has no gems, so gem planning is missing there. Characters in WoW Forever have a surname, which the Names setting can show, and what TBC calls a realm is a ruleset there.

Features

  • BiS Lists per character, with one main list per spec
  • Ranked items per slot, each with its source, its price and what you already have
  • Item, enchant and gem selection from the data of the installed AtlasLoot, filtered by class, faction and source
  • Enchants and gems planned on each item (gems in TBC Anniversary only)
  • EP values from weight sets, compared with the item you planned
  • Import from sixtyupgrades and wowsims, export to sixtyupgrades
  • Copy single items or whole BiS Lists between characters
  • Share BiS Lists with your guild and your group
  • Group planner for dungeons and raids: who needs which item from which boss
  • Item tooltips list the BiS Lists an item is on, with its rank

How it works

Open the window with /bis, /bisp or /bisplanner, or with the minimap button, which you can drag along the edge of the minimap.

Ranks and alternatives

The item in a slot is rank 1, the one you aim for. The alternatives below it are ranked from 2 down and are what you take until you have rank 1. The two ring slots share one set of alternatives, and so do the two trinket slots. An item planned on one ring can still be an alternative for the other, but a row never lists the item its own slot already plans.

A two-handed weapon empties the off hand.

Acquired is a mark you set yourself. BiS Planner does not look into your bags. An item marked as acquired drops out of the group planner count.

Of all lists of a spec, the main list is the one other players receive and the group planner counts.

Hidden features

  • Drag an item from your bags or the character window onto the item column to plan it. On rank 1 it becomes the planned item, on an alternative it replaces that alternative, and on the empty row it is added. An item that does not fit the slot is ignored.
  • Drag a row by its item onto another row of the same slot to change the ranks. Rank 1 of one ring dropped on the other ring swaps both, and the same goes for trinkets.
  • Shift-click an item in the table to put its link into chat.
  • In the item dialog, a double-click chooses and saves in one step.
  • The search field also takes an item ID or an item link. Press Enter, drop the item on the field, or shift-click it in your bags or in chat while the field has the cursor, and the dialog plans it right away. This also works for items AtlasLoot does not list, and the filters do not apply to them.
  • The cross next to a character in its dropdown deletes the character with all its BiS Lists.
  • In the group planner, click a member to leave them out of the count, and click again to count them.
  • ESC closes an open dialog first and then the window.

Item data and sources

BiS Planner reads the installed AtlasLoot after login, one module at a time. In combat AtlasLoot loads nothing, and the reading goes on afterwards. The item dialog does not open in combat while the data is still loading.

An item can drop in several places. The source column shows one of them, by kind in this order: dungeons and raids, factions, PvP, crafting, collections. Sources are sorted by the level range of the instance.

A source left out of the source whitelist in Settings is left out of every BiS List and every count. Each BiS List also has its own default filters, and the filter button in the item dialog changes them until the dialog closes.

Max Level hides items that need a higher level. At 0 it follows the level of the character. A BiS List or a single search can set its own value.

EP values

The EP value of an item is the sum of its stats times the weights of the chosen set. The percentage in front of an alternative compares it with rank 1, and the EP column in the item dialog shows the difference to the item planned in the row.

In TBC Anniversary some stats are read from the English tooltip text. They count only on an English client and are marked "Needs English". WoW Forever reads them in every language. The EP value of an enchant counts only on an English client, in both game types.

Until the client has received an item's data, its EP value can be too low. BiS Planner counts it again when the data arrives.

Sharing

When you open the window for the first time, BiS Planner asks whether to share with your guild and your group. It sends and receives nothing until you answer.

  • BiS Planner shares the character you are logged in with: the main list of each spec, and which of its items you marked as acquired.
  • In the guild, every member also hands on the guild characters they know, so you see the lists of members who are offline.
  • Share with Group can ask in each new group, except in a PvP instance. When you join a group, you announce yourself and the members already there answer you.
  • Lists you receive are read only. You can export them and copy items or the whole list to one of your own characters of the same class.

Account holds your own characters. Guild and Group hold the characters other players share with you. Favorites holds characters from Guild or Group that you marked with Favorite character in the list menu, and it keeps them after you leave the group or the guild.

Turning Share with Guild or Share with Group off deletes the characters received from there, except your favorites. The other players then forget your characters as well.

Group planner

The group planner counts what each member still needs, per instance and per boss. A member counts with every spec that has a main list, and each item that is rank 1 or an alternative and not yet marked as acquired counts as a need. An item from a source outside the whitelist is named instead of counted.

Party or Raid counts your current group. Manual counts a group you put together from every character you know, and BiS Planner keeps it until you reset it.

Import and export

Import takes the JSON export of sixtyupgrades or wowsims, which has to match the class of the character. If it contains several sets of EP values, you pick one.

  • New list creates a BiS List.
  • Replace overwrites an existing BiS List, including its alternatives.
  • Append adds the items to an existing BiS List as alternatives. An empty slot takes the item as rank 1. If an item is planned differently already, the import asks whether to overwrite or keep it.

Export writes the list in the sixtyupgrades format.

Requirements

BiS Planner reads the item, enchant and gem data for the selection lists, sources, prices and the group planner from AtlasLootClassic Continued (folder AtlasLootContinued), which has to be installed. Other versions of AtlasLoot are not tested or supported.
