BiS or Miss

Stop guessing which drops are actually upgrades.

BiS or Miss shows you, at a glance, every Best-in-Slot upgrade you can still get for your class and spec — compared against the gear you're wearing right now. It pairs a fully browsable, filterable BiS gear window with smart, spec-aware item tooltips.

Features

• Upgrade browser — open with /bism or the minimap button. It auto-opens to your current class and talent spec and lists, slot by slot, the BiS upgrades you're still missing — each tagged with its BiS rank (#). When a slot has nothing better, it says so ("at BiS or better").
• Spec-aware item tooltips — hover any item, anywhere, and see which specs want it (and at what rank). For your own spec you get an instant verdict versus your equipped gear: upgrade, already wearing, or downgrade. The verdict is inserted above other tooltip addons.
• Raid & heroic lockouts — a Lockouts window shows, at a glance, which of your level-70 characters are free to raid this week (Karazhan, Gruul, Magtheridon, SSC, Tempest Keep), plus each character's heroic dungeon lockouts and their reset timers. Log in on an alt and it records that character automatically.
• Powerful filters — filter by tier (T4 / T5 / T6), by slot, and by source: raids and dungeons (with per-instance drill-down), Badge of Justice, reputation, crafted, PvP, quest, and world drops. Filters combine.
• Focused by default — slots where you're already at BiS are hidden, so you only see what you can actually improve. Flip Show all to browse the complete ranked BiS list for every slot.
• Already own it — items sitting in your bags or bank are tagged (owned), so gear you already have doesn't read as something you still need to farm.
• Can't get it yet? — items you can't currently use are flagged in yellow with the reason: wrong/no profession (Bind-on-Pickup crafted), a tailoring/leatherworking specialization, the opposite Aldor/Scryers side, reputation you haven't earned yet, or — while leveling — a character level you haven't reached.
• Tier-token help — hover a class tier token to see exactly which BiS set pieces it can turn into.
• Compare & preview — Shift-hover to compare your currently equipped item(s) side by side (the BiS-or-Miss section shows on those comparison tooltips too), Shift-click to link an item in chat, Ctrl-click to preview it in the dressing room.
• Smart about pairs — rings and trinkets are treated as a swappable pair, so it never suggests something you already have equipped in the other slot.
• Fully offline — all gear data is bundled with the addon. No web calls, no setup.

Supported

• Classes / specs: all ten classes — 24 specs. (Priest covers Holy & Shadow, with Discipline sharing the Holy list.)
• Tiers: Pre-Raid, Tier 4, Tier 5, and Tier 6 (Black Temple / Mount Hyjal). The window defaults to T5 for now — switch the Tier dropdown to T6 to see the Phase 3 lists.
• Game version: Burning Crusade Classic (2.5.6).

Notes

• Recommendations follow popular community Best-in-Slot lists (list-based — not stat-weight or simulation based).
• Feral (DPS) and Feral (Tank) can't be told apart from talents alone, so Druid tooltips show both Feral lines.
• This is an early release under active development — feedback and bug reports are very welcome.
