Build your dungeon party while you keep playing.

BetterGroup helps party leaders recruit a balanced five-player group in WoW Forever beta: one tank, one healer and three DPS, including you. Choose your dungeon and preferences, enable optional Auto-invite, and continue questing while the addon looks for suitable players.

Features

• Balanced parties: tracks members and pending invitations so each open role is filled once.
• Recruitment preferences: set a level range and allowed classes for each role, with optional specialization filters.
• Highest-level matches first: prefers higher-level eligible players while preserving your filters and a balanced group.
• Manual recruitment: browse players by role or class and invite individuals yourself.
• Background recruitment: Auto-invite works with the window closed and is not paused simply because you enter combat. Actions remain subject to the game client's permissions.
• Fresh results: includes late-arriving player details and refreshes every 10 seconds while recruitment has unreserved seats.
• Native interface: WoW-style panels, a round minimap button you can drag around the map's edge, party-role icons and arrow pagination through every returned solo-player listing. The minimap position is saved per character.
• Optional whisper recruitment: accept explicit role requests from players who do not have the addon installed.

Getting started

1. Install BetterGroup in your Forever client's Interface/AddOns folder and restart WoW.
2. Open it using the minimap button, /bg or /bettergroup.
3. Select an available dungeon, your role and any preferences.
4. Click Find players for manual recruitment, or enable Auto-invite to start searching and inviting automatically.
5. Use Stop or /bg stop to stop further recruitment. Closing the window does not stop it.

For class preferences, no checked classes means any class. To allow every class except Hunter, select the other classes and leave Hunter unchecked. Manual browsing filters are separate from Auto-invite preferences.

Beta compatibility and limitations

This build targets WoW Forever 1.60.1 / Interface 16001. Other WoW editions are not supported by this build.

The addon uses player listings returned by the native Group Finder API; it cannot retrieve players the game has not returned. Spec details may be unavailable in the beta. Invitations are spaced at least three seconds apart, and Auto-invite is off by default. Unanswered invitations keep their slots reserved while other open roles continue recruiting. Temporary search failures retry with increasing delays; blocked API actions still stop automation with a reason. Public LFG announcements always require a click.

The current build passes 87 offline Lua 5.1 tests with simulated game APIs. Beta client changes and live-game behavior still require in-game testing. Please include the output from /bg debug when reporting a problem, after reviewing it for player names or other details you do not want to share.

No external libraries, services or executables are needed to run the addon. Blizzard UI assets are referenced from the client and are not included in the download.
