Better Group Communication (BGC)

A lightweight LFG helper for group leaders who want better control over their applicant list. Filter incoming applications by language region — visually highlight or hide them, with full per-server control. Built for Midnight (12.0+).

Key Features

• EU and NA language regions supported
• Per-region color coding — instantly see at a glance which region an applicant is from
• Two modes per region : Highlight in color, or hide completely
• Individual server toggles —  each can be enabled/disabled separately
• Cyrillic detection — additional sub-filters for cyrillic names and realms (independent of region)
• Whitelist — never filter specific players (with or without realm)
• In-game popup UI — opens with the BGC button on the LFG window, no `/reload` needed
• 6 UI languages : English, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Português (auto-detected, manually overridable)
• Disable colors option — fall back to uniform red highlighting if you prefer
• An option for flags for each language region
• Midnight-compatible — uses only safe APIs, no taint, no protected calls

How It Works

BGC modifies only your local UI . Applicants are visually marked or hidden in your applicant viewer. Blizzard's servers and the applicants themselves see nothing — you still manually accept or decline each application as usual.

Important: This addon does NOT auto-decline applicants. Blizzard's hardware-event restrictions in Midnight make true automation impossible without manual clicks. BGC's purpose is purely visual filtering to speed up your own decision-making.

Why This Addon?

Mythic+ keys and Heroic, Mythic raids often require voice or text coordination. When a language barrier prevents that, group leaders end up declining applicants anyway. BGC just makes the visual filtering faster, more consistent, and less stressful — without ever changing how Blizzard's matchmaking works on the server side.

Commands

- `/bgc` — open options popup
- `/bgc on` / `/bgc off` — toggle filtering
- `/bgc colors on` / `/bgc colors off` — toggle per-region colors
- `/bgc add Name-Realm` — add to whitelist
- `/bgc remove Name-Realm` — remove from whitelist
- `/bgc list` — show whitelist

Settings

All settings are saved per WoW account and survive across reloads.
