Bearwannabe

Bearwannabe is a gear optimization and planning addon built specifically for Feral Bear Druids in TBC Anniversary.

It is designed to answer a practical question: what should I actually wear for the job I want to do?

Instead of ranking individual items in isolation, Bearwannabe evaluates complete gear sets while accounting for critical-strike immunity, survivability, threat, avoidance, hit, expertise, resistances and the trade-offs between them.

Optimization Philosophy

Bearwannabe does not simply chase the highest item level or the largest single stat.

For standard gear optimization, the addon first ensures that the character remains crit safe, then evaluates the set according to the selected profile.

For resistance encounters, the priority becomes:

Resistance → Crit Safety → Selected Mode

When a resistance target cannot be reached with the available gear, Bearwannabe reports the maximum achievable resistance instead of pretending the target was met.

Gem and enchant recommendations are advisory and are evaluated separately from the core gear-set selection.

Builder

The Builder is intentionally independent from encounter-specific boss profiles and always uses a Generic encounter model.

Choose a phase, optimization mode, PvP availability, professions and Aldor/Scryers preference, then assemble a complete set manually.

Live statistics update as the set changes, including:

Armor, Health, Physical EHP, Damage Reduction, Avoidance, Defense, Resilience, Crit Safety, Hit, Expertise, Attack Power, Threat, Survival and Resistances.

AtlasLoot Integration

Bearwannabe can export Builder and saved gear sets directly in AtlasLoot Custom BiS format:

Only item IDs are exported, making the result easy to paste directly into an AtlasLoot Custom BiS list.

Installation

Download and extract the archive into:

World of Warcraft/anniversary/Interface/AddOns/

The resulting addon folder should be:

Interface/AddOns/zzBearwannabe/

Restart World of Warcraft or use /reload after installation.

Notes

Bearwannabe is designed specifically around Feral Bear tank gearing and is not intended to be a generic item-score addon.

The optimizer uses the gear currently available to your character and evaluates actual gear combinations. Results therefore depend on the items contained in your current scanned gear pool.

Bearwannabe is designed to help you make informed gearing decisions, not to dictate them. Recommendations are advisory, and the final choice always remains yours.
